Now that is an interesting question you raise.

Last year came down from 92/3kg but was lean 68kg underneath that. (hadn't trained for about 20 years and was well fat and out of condition)

Currently 86-7ish but am lean 73+ so might be a bit harder this year. (so with a year of lifting under my belt have gained 5kgs of rippling muscle - covered in a thick layer of fat)

Really expect to be 81-2ish and drop the last bit over night for the weigh in.

Cheers Will.

I tried the db with the comp t-shirt and it was sliding all over the place on the lovely new silky material. reason for stripping off to under t-shirt

Thank you for all the hard work editing here.

Had a lazy week. Slight niggle in left pec and right delt. Rather than make it worse have not lifted and spent time burning up some fat.

Focus on the U80s in May.

Just need to lose strength and gain weight Grin

I might have got the wrong way around?

kirkynick said:Just checked out your video from St.Ives. You had 3 very close attempts at the dumbbell and those sandbags looked like hell. quote]

Cheers

The comp came a few weeks early for the db. Only just got the gym 65kg up the week before. Plan was really just to get the thing up once!! Then.....walk away.

The sacks? Had my belt too tight which squeezed all the gas out me on first one. All the fumbling was because I couldn't breath, Just took me too long to realise what was happening. Really expected to get second 100kg then have a good crack at one of the 115s.

Still a novice so got plenty of time to learn the events and get stronger too.

Make sure you get in the mix. The great atmosphere these boys generate will get you through a comp.

Got a poxy niggle in left pec which I can feel doing everything!!!!

Angry ARRRGGGHHHAngry

This week has been all about cardio and reps. Managed to get some squating, dl, pressing, dipping, stepper, rower and db circuits in.

Hopefully pec will be sorted by end of week and can get on with some strength development and event work ready to take on all the little blokes. "who's your daddy?"

Oh dieting too....

Had a week of eating dust and lost zilch kgs!!

Next week must try harder.Grin

PS if anyone has some dieting fat loss secrets they want to share with me or new modern methods they want me to try out, then just let me know.

Pec is still niggly......cheesed off!

The week has been a mix of early morning cardio, squat session Wednesday which finished off with some SLDL. Didn't get much reaction from SLDL. Try a bit harder next week.

Pressy chest session saturday which went ok. Kept weight down and the pec didn't complain too much.

Also had quite a clean diet to move that little bit closer to BSM U80s.

All in all......head a bit down but focussed on moving forward.

bad news on the pec mate. one thing that has helped me keep my weight down is cutting out milk. I was only drinking a pint a day or 2 on training days but stopped after a stomach bug. since then ive been struggling to keep weight on whereas before it was the other way around!

Pec is just a arse!!! Don't feel like anything too serious but I know it's there and don't wanna make it any worse.

Thanks for the milk info.....only have a splash in 3 or 4 cups of tea a day and perhaps 2-3 x week with my muesli. I'll cut it out....every little helps. Grin

The coming week will involve lots more cardio Unhappy

16th March PM

Gym sooooooo busy could't get in squat rack.....changed plan to do:

Full body db circuit followed by ab circuit.

K-nackered!!!

17th am

Squat rack empty...hurrah

loads of alternating front/back squat for warm up - up to 100kg

FS - 100/110/120/120 x 2 (felt well heavy - last nights db lunges kicking in)

100 x 5

DLDL

4 x 10 worked up to 120kg - quite like these. takes some pressure off the dodgey pec

Still got mild niggle in left pec which pinches doing every single exercise i do in the gym.....except calf raises LOL

17th March PM
Elvis Live at Wembley. Great night. Arrived at my seat next to quite a large lady, but not grossly fat. She greeted me with "hello I'm quite a wide load". Nearly pissed myself. Got even funnier when the concert livened up and everyone got to their feet. This woman was at least 6ft 2in. She turned to me again and said "this is when the people behind really hate me". At this point a little bit of wee came out.

She was a KIN UNIT!
