This afternoons session went well, nice change having a training partner who lifts to a similar level.

Squats,

180 x 2,
220 x 2,
260 x 1,
wraps on,
280 x 1,
300 x 2 - PB, didnt feel up to adding any more weight, so did a 2nd rep with my '1rm', reasonably comfortable, probably a 3rd rep there if i needed it.

Beltless SLDL,

140 x 3,
170 x 3,
190 x 3,

SLDL,

210 x 4,
230 x 3 - PB?

Snatch - never done these properly so got some coaching today.

70 x f,
bar x a lot,
50 x 3,
50 x 2 - turns out even with minimal weight my shoulders find this movement uncomfortable, will start doing them more frequently and see if i get comfortable with it.

Glute bridges,

55 x 5,
55 x 8.

Incline press,

80 x 2,
80 x 2,
80 x 2 - these were just a tester to see how the arm was doing, still somewhat uncomfortable, but definitely getting better.

Probably push presses and front squats tomorrow morning if nothing changes.

Feeling a bit tender when i arrived at the gym today, and it shows in the numbers.

Clean + strict press,

100 x 1,
100 x 1,
100 x 1.

Push press,

100 x 1,
110 x 1,
115 x 1 - PB?

Push Jerk,

110 x 1 - plan was for 3 reps, but arm was too uncomfortable to hold it in the rack position so i bottled the idea of more reps.

Front squats,

180 x 3.

Sprints on row machine, level 7,

297m in 60s,
278m in 60s.

Not a great session, but not the worst ive done recently, so happy enough. Thinking i'll try a max dead tomorrow, not sure i'll make a 320, but no doubt at all i can beat my current 300 and get the numbers updated, having the same pb for 6 months is just weak.

Thoroughly broken when I woke up today, so plan for a max deadlift changed rapidly, but still wanted to get a session in with my suit, even if I couldn't pull heavy, need to be using it at least once a week to get comfortable with it.

Deadlifts,
(suit on)
260 x 1,
260 x 1,
(suit off)
260 x 1 - all reasonably comfortable, but knees were in pain for the warm ups prior to putting on my knee sleeves.

CGBP,
100 x 2,
120 x 2,
130 x 1,
140 x 1.

Paused squats,

190 x 2,
230 x 1,
230 x 1,
230 x 1.

Finished off with some pump work on the legs, and a lot of stretching, though it hasn't reduced the ache in my knees or adductors, may brave some time on the foam roller later this evening. Strict press and front squats on the agenda for tomorrow, possibly followed by some very light strict log work to see how the biceps feel.

Got a decent session in tonight, though the inability to do heavy deads or squats will get old real quick if my legs done sort themselves out.

Strict press,

100 x 1,
110 x 2 - PB - very happy as previous best was 107.5 x 1.
100 x 3.

Front squats,

180 x 2,
180 x 2,
180 x 2 - a bit tender on the descent, but comfortable enough from bottom up.

CGBP

100 x 2,
120 x 2,
130 x 1,
140 x 1.

Speed deads,

180 x 2,
180 x 2,
180 x 2.

Looking to get back to log pressing on Wednesday, and hopefully be able to pull a decent deadlift as well.

I really don't, reps are relegated to floor to OH work and events, neither of which I'm really up to just now.

So, funny story, I got a little bit ran over by a fork lift at work yesterday, no major damage, but it has left me a little battered, I suspect I've bruised my knee cap and I cant begin to guess what I've done to my neck, but its seriously sore, I'm assuming whiplash.

The end result of this is that my already tender legs are now out of action for anything beyond walking really, so no heavy squats or deadlifts for a little while, which means training is essentially going to be pressing and axle deadlifts (which require minimal weight and so shouldn't be an issue for my sore neck or knees).

Enough of my boring craic, on to todays training.

Strict press,

105 x 3 - PB triple - quite comfortable, and not a surprise after my 110 double.
90 x 4 - planned 8 but neck tweaked as I made the fourth rep so I bottled any more.

Pendlay rows,

100 x 6,
100 x 6,
100 x 6.

DOH axle deadlifts,

75 x 3,
95 x 3,
105 x 3,
115 x 3 - First time doing these fresh so this is the baseline i'll be looking to improve on over the next couple of weeks. Glad that I can still keep working my deadlift, even if I cant move much weight it will let me keep working the technique and maybe even start to build a respectable grip.

Finished off with some back pump work, pulldowns and such like, got that mad lat pump!

Likely more of the same tomorrow, though probably with some bench thrown in for good measure

Ok, heres the scoop. I took ill on Thursday afternoon, and spent pretty much all of Friday, sat and sunday in bed unable to keep a meal down, I'm estimating that between lunch time Thursday and lunch time yesterday I managed about 2000kcals, most of which was toast, and about half of which was sunday morning as I started to feel human again. By last night I was more or less back to right, I took today off work to make sure I was sorted and to get some food into the system.

All in I lost about a stone of bw between thurs afternoon and my post workout weigh in this afternoon, so now sat at just over 19st, though I expect to be back up towards 20 by the end of the week.

So anyway, as I was feeling better I headed off to train at lunch time today with a couple of full size feeds in the tank.

10/11/14

Log press - 1 clean,

60 x 5,
60 x 5,
80 x 5.

Axle deads,

60 x 5,
105 x 3,
105 x 5.

Strict press,

60 x 5,
80 x 3,
80 x 5.

Front squat,

80 x 5,
80 x 5,
80 x 5 - paused.

CGBP,

100 x 2,
100 x 2,
100 x 5.

Pendlay rows,

70 x 5,
70 x 5,
70 x 5.

Stones to 56" platform - chalk only,

90 x 2,
90 x 2.

Hammer curls,

15 x 12,
25 x 12.

All very light weights, and with only the exception of the final set of log and strict press all very easy. First time doing stones since injuring my arm at Yorkshires so just wanted to make sure it felt comfortable before trying anything heavier.

Reasonably happy with the session, and the brightside is that 3 days of barely moving has my legs feeling fine, so should be able to start squatting real weights again before much longer.

strict log

80 x 1,
80 x 1,
85 x 1,
85 x 1,
90 x 1.

Double deadlifts (pull from 3" deficit, then from floor)

230 x 1,
250 x 1.

CGBP

100 x 2,
120 x 1,
130 x 1,
140 x 1.

First day eating my usual 5k+ kcals after illness so just wanted to see where strength was at, all weights felt reasonably comofortable, though the 250 deficit pull was a little slower than i expected.

Training on the 13/11 was just a mess about with my brother at his gym so nothing worth logging, only thing of interest really was my complete failure of a 150 bench, which was caught on camera, will post the link when my brother puts it online.

Axle F2OH (strict/push press),

85 x 1/1,
95 x 1/1,
95 x 1/3.

Squats,

210 x 1,
210 x 3,
210 x 3,
210 x 5 - this weight felt very heavy, though it was the first time in a while i'd done Ass to Calf squats instead of my usual just below parallel squatting.

Paused CGBP,

100 x 2,
100 x 2,
120 x 2,
120 x 2.

SLDL/Deadlifts,

200 x 1/1,
220 x 1/1.
220 x 0/7.

Had hoped to get at least 8 reps on the final set, but it just wasnt there yesterday, still not back up to strength just yet apparently.

Enjoyed the medley, nice change to get some events work, especially for fitness, never tried events for anything other than weight, but I think medleys may be the way forward.

Everything felt heavy during this workout, but at least the weights are going back up, as is my bodyweight, though still about 7lb short of where it was before I took ill.

Looking forward to some log and deadlifts tomorrow night.

Axle clean + strict press,

75 x 2,
75 x 2,
90 x 2,
95 x 1,
100 x 1,
105 x 2 - PB, only ever did this weight for a single previously.

Axle deadlifts,

95 x 3,
95 x 5,
95 x 5.

Double deadlifts (1 rep from 3" deficit, 1 rep from floor),

210 x 1,
250 x 1,
275 x 1 - PB - vid here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_tgjtlLwQQ

Glad to see my strength returning, though weight is still down about 7lbs. Very happy with the pbs. The axle deads were just thrown in because someone was using the deadlift platform so I opted to do my warm ups with what was to hand, which was the axle I'd been cleaning.

Not sure whats on the cards for tomorrow, certainly squats, and maybe strict log since it was replaced by axle for todays pressing.
