None of the children were killed (several were seriously injured) but two adults did succumb to their injuries.
There's some question as to what she said and whether she was indeed the shooter (her Father was in the House at the time of the shooting IIRC) but I can certainly understand why she has been refused parole.
As for "Pete is Peachy Keen..."...I was just re-writing some of the Lyrics to match a man who does like Thursdays. Happy

Friday, 24th March, start 16:10

Squat, sleeves and boots on
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
60 x 5
belt on
100 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
All pretty good, but I have a corn on the outside of my left, little toe. Someone is coming to cut it out on Tuesday and I can't wait. It usually troubles me a little but tonight it played me up bigtime. Pete is grumpy tonight

Boots off, pumps on, and the relief on the corn is palpable.

Deadlift
60 x 5
60 x 5
100 x 3
140 x 3
170 x 3
170 x 3
170 x 3
170 x 3
170 x 3
All sweet enough but a little slower than I expected, a little quicker toward the end.

Rowed with the weightlifters about heater usage as it really wasn't cold tonight but the windows were shut and the heaters on. I was sweating like a bull at the end. Two were very reasonable but the third ranted a bit "rip the f**kers out and I will train in seven jumpers" she cried. All of which indicates that deep down she knows she is wrong. Something to discuss at the next committee meeting however. We need a minimum temperature at which at which the heaters can be used and once over that they get switched off. I vote for about eight degrees personally, but we'll see. It would be interesting to put a coin-operated switch in, say thirty minutes heat for a couple of quid, then we would see who was really cold. I doubt if much cash would go in it.

Training tomorrow as I am reffing on Sunday, so tyre pressures as well tomorrow and I may just have a trip out for some chips while I am at it. ITV4 are showing racing from Newbury and Kelso and while Newbury is no big deal I believe it may be a first for Kelso. All this and then the horrors of the missing hour and the evil that is British Summertime. Ah well, I guess I can live with it.

Is this my chance to be a chthonic troglodyte ? Or have I over-egged the pudding ?

It will be noted that I neither deny nor dispute the original statement.

My last day on Greenwich Mean Time. I shall enjoy the better weather but I really dislike it when the answer to the question -

"When it is noon in Greenwich, what time is it in Greenwich ?

Isn't noonAngry

I even caught some simpleton BBC presenter on some random gardening programme saying that this was his favourite time of year because of the extra hour of daylight. What a c**t. There isn't any extra you t**t, they have just moved it from morning to evening. I don't know the man's name but I have logged his face. That is all I require to hate him.

Saturday, 25th Start 1300

As I am reffing tomorrow this has to be done today, sadly this also means that I am alone. The wrist feels much better but isn't quite right.

Bench, very raw
20 x 15
20 x 15
20 x 15
40 x 5
50 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 5
80 x 5
90 x 5
100 x 5
102 x 5
105 x 5
107 x 5
110 x 5
All the fives were last rep paused and these all went very nicely. Shame I was alone, not having full confidence in the wrist yet made me acutely aware that I was on my Todd and I considered it unwise to go any higher. Still, the heaters and the lights were off and a window was opened. Happy days.

By each side of the bench, there are six pegs on the wall, the one and a quarters go on the top left peg and the two and a halves on the top right, one down on the left are the fives and to the right of those the tens, Below those in the centre are the fifteens and below those are the twenties. Does that sound complicated gentle reader, no, because it isn't. But someone put the fifteen on the twenty peg and then the twenties from both sides in front of the fifteen. f**king really ! And the worst part is that it probably wasn't an outstandingly stupid person who did it, it was probably an averagely stupid person.

I despair.

Anyway I have recorded racing to watch and more game of thrones to read, so f**k 'em. Time for Pete to lie down

It is indeed Billy, I often wonder if that this thing can just go on and on and keep getting bigger, or will there come a time when a fresh one has to be started ?

922 coming soon

Welcome Sir.
I spoke yesterday with a friend of mine who has access to trade only sites where he reckons chains can be bought for a fraction of the price I was given to expect.
We also have a welder at the club who can doubtless make the collars for favourable rates.
Mixing chain thicknesses is a splendid idea that had not occured to me. I thank you for that.
Slowly but surely it may just all come together

Any progress on the chains pete? If you find you can have them made with some space for profit for yourself let me know as i know a gym looking for a set!

Monday, 27th March, start 1600

Squat, sleeves on, boots on, corn playing up a bit
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
60 x 5
belt on
100 x 3
140 x 2
180 x 1
200 x 1
212.5 x 3
182.5 x 3
Derek and Handsome Jeff spotted for the top set and Amy was depth nazi, the first felt good but harder than I expected, second was good and as hard as expected, but the third was a bit of a shambles, it was very backy and rather difficult as a result. I stumbled back into the racks and Handsome Jeff commented that I made a meal of it.
"Maybe" I replied, "but was it worth it" and looked at Amy
"I thought you were going to sit down with that first one" she answered
"Where the second two in"? I asked
"They were" came the reply
All three of the top set "in" is relatively rare for me and the first to be so deep as to be mentioned in dispatches is even rarer. The last one could have been better but this will do, as my old coach used to say, "If you can f**k it ip and still do it, well, that is no bad thing"

Boot off, pumps on, relief

Deadlift
60 x 5
60 x 5
100 x 3
140 x 3
170 x 3
170 x 3
170 x 3
170 x 3
170 x 3
These were a little sluggish at first and I toyed with the idea with either dropping the weight a touch of losing a couple of sets, I didn't and I am glad that I didn't. They speeded up a bit toward the end, but the back is weary now,

Tomorrow the corn should have gone. That will put a smile on my face

Not yet, but I haven't forgotten. I'll let you know the price before I go ahead, and you can have them for what they cost me. There are enough people to make money out of in this world without starting on a brother-in-iron

Happy
