Lovely ass Congrats. For many years I used a "safe" squat boot (They were later taken over by Titan I believe) and they were excellent but over the years my feet seemed to get a little wider and so I invested in another pair, this time I went with those linked above and particularly like the wooden heel and sole, they are excellent. They are not cheap but assuming your feet don't change they will never wear out and therefore never need replacing. Serious squatting is fine if you don't need a heel as you can use boxing / wrestling boots or converse trainers, but you need a heel then nothing really is built to take that sort of weight, unless you go down the purpose made footwear route. Many use shoes as generally favoured by weightlifters, but I prefer a boot. Damn, F.T.G.S.P thoae have got to be the finest lifting apparel i have ever seen... Makes me wish i needed a heel to squat. I use a janky old blood staied pair of converse.

If I were you I would rejoice in the fact that you don't need a heel. But this one particular cloud does indeed have a very silver lining :-)

But now my stance is literally 5mm either side off the stands of the mono its no longer much of an issue for me.

It didn't detract in any way, shape or form from what followed though. Glynn and Turner were down and Tess and Joe were expected but never showed. Beef and ale pie, mash and veg for dinner at the pub afterward and all was well.

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17895 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Monday, 9th October, start 16:00 Driving to the gym tonight I was pondering whether or not to have a change from singles. Squat, boots and sleeves on 20 x 5 20 x 5 20 x 5 20 x 5 20 x 5 20 x 5 belt on 60 x 5 100 x 3 140 x 3 160 x 2 Decision time, either singles or a rep or two 180 x 3 180 x 3 180 x 3 The decision was made somewhat easier by the fact that I was still alone, unusually no one else had arrived. So triples it was and I rather enjoyed them, can't be sure about the depth as I never can be and there was no one there to tell me. But they all felt reasonable. Of course, as soon as I had finished these three powerlifters rolled in. I will take it as a sign from the gods of lifting that they wanted some reps done tonight. The knees didn't complain too much either Boots and sleeves off, pumps on 70 x 5 100 x 3 120 x 3 140 x 3 160 x 3 180 x 3 180 x 3 180 x 3 These were fun. I consider it better to deadlift without sleeves as it means that you can feel the bar brush the hairs on your knees as it passes. That is very reassuring as it means your line is more or less bang on five sets of eight remedial knee tracking top end leg extensions with ten kilos and I will call it a night.

One hundred of anything is a big ask and right now I'm not sure I could do it. Three thirty threes - no problem. Two fifties - not much of a problem. One hundred - different kettle of fish altogether.

I used to cross that on a twice daily (working days, not every day) basis from 1979 to 1993. I was there at more or less the same time each day as as ships sail to meet tides, this meant there were long periods of not being affected and rather shorter periods of being frequently affected. These shorter periods were a real bind as there was little that could be done about it. But the most infuriating thing by far, was if you let a car out of a side road on the way up to the bridge, then as the bells rang and the barriers dropped, the guy you let in got through and you were first car to be stopped at the barrier. There was then ten minutes of bugger all as the bridge turned, a ship sailed serenely through, the bridge turned back and away you went. Sometimes on a very hot day, the bridge would open but because it had expanded slightly from the heat it would not close properly, the fire brigade would then be called to spray water over it until it cooled, contracted and would fit back in its slot again. Such fun.

Close grip 70 x 8 80 x 8 90 x 8 100 x 8 The penultimate set was not easy and was a warning as to the last set. Last week I did seven at a hundred but that was after three triples, this is after three fives, the first five were easy but then it was three singles which got progressively harder, there was huffing and puffing aplenty before the last rep but I made it - just
