This dude explains how he went from 8,000 cals Mr Olympia size to a normal dude courtesy of 800 calories a day in jail. People say you really get big in prison don't they?

It makes perfect sense.

Drugs allow you to push far beyond your genetic potential and maintaining that beyond natural mass requires calories and hard work. Remove drugs from the equation and if lucky you will simply return to your genetic best. Remove training all together and eventually you'll be just like any natty lifter who stops training.

IMO the only way to maintain a decent size/physique whilst using peds is to use a therapeutic dose or maybe fractionally higher. That way you can get away with it for longer with far fewer complications. BB's who jab grams a week and use many different compounds are just asking for it.

Not that I hold it against anyone who does that, it's their choice and fair play.

EDIT: Not to sound like a c**t but it will be interesting to see how a few of the worlds level strongmen look in 10 years. Not mentioning any names Grin

It's sad when you can legitimately play such a game

I sure as hell hope we don't lose anymore strength athletes prematurely but the way things are going someone will most likely pop sooner or later Unhappy

I have never really read t nation.

on a personal level, im delighted to be well out of the game and feel bad for anyone caught in the trap of having to keep using to stay big and/or strong

Good fun while it lasts though

I agree too.

Bodybuilding (probably moreso than strongman or other iron sports) is very self indulgent as a hobby and it's only when you move on from it that you see just how selfish a "sport" it is.

Cant speak on the others but flex was jacked at last years olympia an yates has been consistently 250lb+ with abs since his retirement so the 'normal size guy' thing was a straight up lie.
