Was staying overnight in London so had the pleasure of training at Bethnel Green Weightlifting club - what a great set of lads. Working sets all had reps in the tank - managed to lose my grip at the top of the last rep of set 2, but made set 3 without problems.

Tough session today. Neck was tight all day, not sure if it was the wheat I had on Friday or laying turf on hands and knees yesterday. Quads haven't recovered from the last session either.

Was supposed to do triples on squats, but the last rep on the first set was a bit of a grind - probably would have attempted the thirds on the other sets with a spotter, but was on my own today. Bench was slow too, just one of those days.

Have until Fri to recover now, really need it.

First time doing all three lifts together for a few months - comp is 3 weeks tomorrow.

Squat felt better than of late, though quads still feel a little tight.

Bench was not maximal, but hard all the same. Foot slipped on the second rep of the second set. Messed up the first rep of the last set, which made the second rep hard and my arse came off the bench. Think I need to concentrate on form a bit harder. Skipped the bench holds as my shoulders were a bit sore.

My back was a little tight going into deads, which stopped me from getting my optimal starting position. It made things harder, but I got the reps. Managed everything DOH, but must get some mixed grip practice in soon before the comp.

Hard session tonight. Work sets on squats were slow, not grinders but hard. Lost the line on the first rep of the first set and nearly fell forward, which was interesting Roll-Eyes

Bench started off fine but felt heavier through the sets. By the time I got to deads I was tired and my hip was stiff. I was meant to do 5x5 but bailed out on set 4.

s**t session tonight. Squats were OK, but not very fast.

Bench top sets were supposed to be doubles - first set wasn't maximal but there wasn't 2 there. Second set I lost the line which made the single hard, third set was a grinder and my arse came up.

For deads I thought it was time I tried mixed grip. That didn't feel as bad as I thought. Got to my top sets, which were also supposed to be doubles, and failed the first rep below the knees - just didn't seem to have any oomph. Tried another rep with straps but failed that too and called it a night.

Reset session today after Monday's crap session, 60% triples. Did deads first as I was waiting for Ioan. Deads were fast, got better over the sets. Squats were harder that I was hoping, legs felt tired and hip was tight, though they got better too. Bench was easiest of all.

Did my first comp today, weighing in at 114.9Kg. The wheels have fallen off over the last couple of weeks (blood clots in my lungs are back and have affected my respiratory system), so decided to be conservative and attempt my qualifying total (500Kg).

First squat was fast, and second not bad too. Messed up my foot position on the third and failed it half way up (doh, good fight though).

Started too light on bench, first lift was too easy and second not much harder - stupidly increased 15Kg for third lift and failed that about 5 inches off my chest (after what felt like another good fight).

Everything had seized up by the time I got to deads, but I got 3 lifts with a little bit left I think.

I totalled 525, and learnt a lot Grin

Thanks to AMHPower for my programming, you really know your stuff.

Congratulations. Some nice lifting, especially considering your health problems. You make deadlifts look almost effortless.

Did some very light squats, the fronts of my knees have been very sore since the comp (not sure if it's because that's the first time I've squatted without sleeves for a while). Also did some light deads (knees were fine with those).
