Trap 3 raise 8.5 x 5, 5, 5. TRX Squats Front squat 100, 140. DB external rotation (elbow on bench) 4 x 8, 8, 8. DB press 31 x 3, 3, 3. Final session done. A bloody long shift at work made tonights light weights feel a bit heavoer than they should, but all still moving well. Some tightness in the right biceps and both legs, but I'm confident thats just down to phtsio and events the other day. Another 2 days of rest and recovery and i should be close to tip top. | ||

Lesson learned. A couple of weeks of rest now then I'll start the serious work of prepping for the xape final. Last opportunity to finish the year on a high. | ||

Banded shoulder dislocations/neutral grip chins/banded single arm rows 5/3/15 - 3 trisets. DB incline press 26 x 15, 15, 15. Btn strict press 50 x 5, 5, 5. Back to training tonight. Going to keep it very light for a few weeks to make certain the leg is fully healed. Afterwards I'll start ramping things up and try to find a comp to target in the back end of the year since apparently xape might not be happening. | ||

Single leg calf raises, 3 x 12. Wide stance half squats 140, 180 x 8, 8, 8. Banded glute raises/horizontal jump 10/5 - 3 supersets. Again keeping things nice and light, just testing the angles and getting the blood flowing through the damaged leg. Light front squats are the worst thing ever, i just want to load the bar up whenever i front squat! | ||

Felt good today, so it was a bit harder forcing myself not to really push it. I've agreed to defend my doncasters title next sat. This won't really change my training, just means next weeks return to events will be in a comp setting. I know I'm a long way off my best, so not expecting too much, but it was a great comp last year and I'm sure it will be a good time this year to. | ||

Push press felt horrid, just couldn't get enough air in. f**k humidity and sets of over 5 reps. 1 more week of this light s**t then i can start ramping it up a bit after Doncasters, hopefully be in the new job role by then as well which will mean more time to train. | ||

Calf raises 180 x 12, 12, 12. Monster log power clean + push press 85, 105 x 3, 3, Wraps, 125 x 1. Had to do a job on the car last night so ran out of time to train. Luckily im on a first aid course this week, so no early starts. This meant i had plenty time to get a session in this morning. Front squat felt strong, but didn't want to rush it so stopped at 4 plates. I'll go a little heavier next week. Log was a little wobbly on the chest, but no problems with the press. | ||

(no surprise, ive barely trained stones this year and ive not touched fingals since the same comp last year). 3rd overall, with the win going to Simon Knowles, who seems to get better everytime i see him, and will be a real threat for a qualification spot at Northerns next year. The exciting part, for me at least, was that the leg gave no indication it was in anything other than tip top shape. This means i can now start upping the weights, and push for some big PBs before the year is done. | ||

Strict press 60, 80, Belt + wraps 100 x 2 eomom x 10. Seated unilateral DB press 24 x 8, 8, 8. A bit worn down from the weekend and a couple of very busy days at work. Really enjoyed the DB press. | ||

Wide stance squats 140 x 5, 5, 5. A very slow session tonight. Lots of stretching and buffing between sets. Leg felt good, its a little depressing that 240 is the heaviest squat I've done in 2 months, but it is what it is. Plan is to hit 260 in 3 weeks, then 280 3 weeks after that. | ||
