Last night benched up to 170kg but technique was awful due to shoulder. The plan was a double.

Today benched up to 160 and technique was better but still a little painful.

Compete on Sunday now hopefully in the 100kg opens. Last time I weighed myself I was 104.4kg.

Biggest lifts in this cycle were

285/170/290.

Comp openers will hopefully be 270/165/282.5 all being well

Boring powerlifting post ahead.

Yesterday I competed in the GPC British championships at 100kg. I ended up with a 12.5kg total pb but it just wasn't my day lol.

My training partner and I were in the same class and we do each other's knee wraps and he squatted 2 places in front of me I think. So doing his wraps and then squatting I was just f**ked. I managed my opener which felt not too bad in the circumstances but then on my second attempt the gap between us closed and he couldn't do my wraps. So I spent the entire time asking different people if they could do my wraps and when I eventually got them done they just felt so foreign on my knees lol. I got the weight up but it wasn't to depth. So I took the same weight again and jimmy managed to do my wraps for the third and I managed to get it. Overall though it was an absolute clusterf**k and I wouldn't like to do it again. I finished on 280 but with better circumstances I think I could be over 290.

Then onto bench. I've had a shoulder injury since Feb last year and it's slowly getting better with the physio I've got but he's been on holiday for the last couple of weeks so I've not been able to see him. My shoulder was painful by 120 in the warm up room but I just carried on. Opened on 165, then went 170 and missed 175 on my third but it's visible how bad my right shoulder was feeling by that point. Hopefully it will be sorted soon because I benched 175 when I was 21 lol.

Then onto deadlift. Everything in the warm up room felt fine. Warmed up to 260 no problem. Opened on 277.5 for a comp pb total and then went 287.5 for my second. I put down 295 for my third but when I sat down after pulling 287.5 I noticed I'd torn my callus off. I glued it back on and tried to cover it as much as I could with chalk but I couldn't commit to my final pull. I didn't even feel it come off but it was bleeding like mad

Overall I totalled 737.5kg which I'm ok with. On my day I have a huge pb total in there which is promising but I'm happy to keep chipping away at it.
