Just wondering what strongman will look like in 5 years?!

By then I'm guessing all the current top Brits will be retired maybe except bish, there will be no more z, Thor and probably shaw.

Also if you look at how the weights have changed in the last 5 years can it continue??

So who do you think will be the top Brits then? Who will be dominant? And will we be looking at possibly a 250kg log or will strongman go back a little and look at being slightly more athletic again?

Hixxy is of an age that he could still be on the scene in 5 years if he doesn't get hurt again.

Id expect the top Brits to be Tom Stoltman and Paul smith. Both are stupid strong and neither is old enough to shave yet.

As for the sport, i suspect it will go back to athleticism a bit. The health risks with getting bigger and bigger wont be overlooked forever.

Eddie will still compete at 250kg bw and collapse before reaching the barbell.

Needs a split like bodybuilding did 20 years ago...

static and movement.

Personally, I prefer the Magnus, Jon Pal and Pudz types where these boys can/ could move.

Lets have the Arnolds for the heavy static and WSM for moving everyday objects, bending bars, Framers for distance and more of a visual show. as a child I loved this tangible stuff more than squats and deads 1 rep Log press etc.

Split it, let it evolve in separate directions I say!

I prefered strongman years ago too. Too much s**te about having to be stupid heavy.

When Pudz competed, it was still heavy and fun to watch.

If The big guys think it's too light, then drop the mega doses and lose 20-30 kg.

The competitors would be fitter and healthier.

You would have machines like Bish, still silly strong but Athletic as well.

The best guys would still be the best.

Also throw in the odd novelty event, like ripping telephone directories and bending bars.

I understand it's a competitive sport and evolved over the years, but a few things could be added to make it more exciting.

Hardcore fans might love max lifts every year, but most casuals love the moving and repping events.

This is only my opinion, but I don't enjoy Wsm as much anymore.

...because you know the results already...that is all.

They could make the final longer also..BBC used to be an actual hour..ch5 should do 90mins with advert breaks

But to answer the original question...if Tom Stoltman goes on a mega bulk he would do well.

I don't think it can possibly carry on at the rate it has been as too much injury. As for the mega dosing, that isn't how it works, nobody takes any more now than what they used to and more isn't necessarily better.

I hate it when they only show the top few guys in the final.

They definitely take more now. Especially growth and insulin.

There will be showing some Shaws and Bjornsons in the near future. Another Z or Kaz in 15-20 year maybe.
