when Ursus listed the comps Z's done over the years I was astounded he is still around! Think of the beating his body has taken over the last 15 years, its surprising he's still alive, let alone WSM!

would rather see him retire now, right at the top of the game, than have a few years of not quite being top dog

what is left for him to do?

if he is retiring as John said what a way to go out. but i think he'll nail 500LBS + on the log before he does hang up his neoprene

There was talk of him retiring last time he won as well. I also remember he said his goal was to win three WSMs, like his idol Kaz - which he's now achieved.

Yes, ideally I'd like him to do some sort of log championship and actually MAX out

Then a raw powerlifting comp

but he can be retired from strongman and still do those Happy

Hmmm, just imagine how much he could log if he spent a little while purely focused on that, having retired from the rest Happy

I would not want to see him retire, but I am sure noone would grudge him that, given the entertainmant he has provided over the years.

The term Legend is used to freely now imo, but it hardly seems enough to sum up Z

Whilst I agree that it would look better if he retired as top dog rather than carry on and mess up his joints, slide down rankings etc, surely he's making good money? Would he not earn more from 2nd-5th position than he would doing whatever he'd do after he retires? I'd say financially he'd be better off competing a bit more as long as he doesn't do long term damage to his joints/health.

Isn't he actually a really big star in Lithuania?

There is no money in strongman other than sponsorship, but if he retires he would be able to do TV and other things back home

Look at Sammualson, he seems to have done very well for himself since he retired

well he did dancing with the stars in Sweden, and that seemed to make him pretty famous

but yeah, now that you mention it, perhaps that was the pinnacle of his tv stardom?
