Unfortunatly I had already booked a 3 week holiday when I got the invite, which meant I had 3 weeks between coming home and competing. I wasn't expecting big things from my squat (I was very stiff from the lack of training), bench I had been resting for a while due to wrist problems (mostly healed up now), whilst deadlift I was expecting to be there or there abouts on form, as this doesn't tend to suffer so much from lack of training. Weighed in the day before at a light 107.2. This was 10am, no food since dinner and minimal fluids. By comparison I weighed in 108.6 starved and dehydrated 18 hours back in Feb Squat: 200 kg Good Lift, felt fine. This was the heaviest I went in training 210 kg Good lift 220 kg Good lift Bit of a push, wouldn't have had a great deal more. Pleased to squat 220 given lack of training Better start than I expected. But down 5kg on last comp in Feb Bench: This was going to be tough as I simply hadn't benched over 110 in about 6 weeks 130 kg Good lift. Harder than expected, as I was waiting at the start for a command, which never came (silly me) 140 kg No lift. Just not strong enough Disappointing here. Embarrased not to hit 3 plates. Will get it back. 17.5 kg down on last time Deadlift: Hit 270 back in Feb, and this was my most confident event of the 3. 240 kg Good lift, easy 260 kg Good lift, looked easy, but felt a bit dizzy at lockout 272.5 kg No Lift This was really close, failed a few inches from lockout, I could have had it with straps, but fighting those last few inches with hook grip wasn't happening 12.5 kg down on last time Overall not the best performance I had. Totaled 610 kg, vs 642.5 kg in Feb. However there is a plan for improvement here. Really need to get the squat closer to 250. I feel this lift has the most scope to add kgs. | ||
