Massively pleased with these...that's a genuine 400kg in the hands and it moved pretty nicely...I tried to load another 10kg but I think the thing is maxed now so I will have to work reps from now. 350kg x 2 after was tougher tbh as I was wiped out but very pleased to shift a fairly large weight Happy

Ok today saw a return to high bar, oly shoe, atg squats. I forgot how much I enjoyed these and knees seem fine with them, tbh with a little training I can see me breaking past my low bar 222.5kg PB with them, I am very out of practice but I will be hammering these for a while...great fun...proper squats too really.

Massive weight! Looks ridiculous and monstrous at the same time. Does your gym have a trap bar? I bet you'd hit some huge numbers. What's the deal with the straps though Roll-Eyes

It does have a trap bar ...only used it once and hated it but may try again.

Lol...I used straps as the bar has some silly foam covering on it that rolls in the hand so straps are the only option...plus it was 400kg mate lol!! I'm no grip king like you!

Ok things running a little late this week as been away in Devon with the missus, will probably have to miss a session or 2 this week but never mind...will get my main work in. Drank far too much the weekend...pints...shots...you name it I drank it and ate crap...not enough calories either without doubt, drove back 3 hours this morning...went to work then headed to the gym, not feeling particularly on it but it went ok....

Shoulder feeling ok...elbow a bit funky...first 130 felt like the earth but moved easily...next 3 sests moved nicely too so banged on next weeks weight of 132.5kg and it looks decent in vid but felt pretty tough but considering everything I will take that. Another 5x5 pb there so progress keeps on coming...really hoping I can get to 140kg 5x5 before things drop off but playing it week by week. 140kg and 150kg after moved nicely..150 a tad slow but not surprising after the volume..a little tng volume after and it felt light and breezy...just a tad painful in the joints by this point but nothing terrible. 132.5kg 5x5 due next week Happy

Another quick blast to the chest to finish things off today, massive burn.
 
Decent work today...kept volume fairly limited and did what was needed, back to good clean food now and more of a focus....deads 5x5 will be tomorrow at 6.30 am...not looking forward to that but needs must and all that! It will be a 5x5 pb too...followed by some tech/speed work on my high bar squats and if time a little accessory work but may not have the time.

Strong work mate, I don't know how you pulled that out of the bag after a big weekend. I'm getting old, it take me about 3 days to get over a big night out. Of course the real question is; How are the people that ate your cooking? Still alive?

Cheers mate Happy Mate I was struggling...just not used to drinking these days and I felt it lol! Good fun for a change though after being so strict for so long,

Hahaha...I have heard no tales of people being ill so the 800 odd burgers and sausages I cooked must have been ok ill!!

Early morning session today...awake at 5.55am...in gym by 6.15...5x5 deads done by 7.20...brutal...possibly the toughest session I have ever done.
 
I didn't sleep great...woke up with a headache going down into the back of my neck but had water and caffeine (not ideal but needed) and got to the get...

Horrendous...I hate lifting at that time of the morning doing anything but 5x5 deads is another level at that time. After first set I was so close to chucking up...moved well but felt terrible, improved after that and felt better each set but still very tough, last set moved ok still but stomach was wanting to empty its few contents for a few minutes after and I went quite pale lol. Still job done and another 5kg increase on my 5x5 pb...hoping next week at a more reasonable hour things feel a tad easier! Tbh, looking forward to a drop to 4x4...5's are bloody horrible.

And that was that...early morning session done. I may not get another session in now until Monday but I got my main work in so not too worried.
 
I have also decided to elevate my calories to 200kcal above maintenance...trying to recomp seems pointless at the moment..i need to add more muscle, need to keep remembering this year is about strength and size...I will be aiming to limit any fat gain but I need to focus. When I come to a big cut next year I want to be my biggest to date after the cut. Currently sitting around 99kg-100kg but want to edge this upto 105kg+ really slowly and steadily the coming months.

Well done for gutting it out mate. I love lifting in the morning but appreciate its not for everyone. You did well to keep going considering how you felt.

Squats look like they've come on leaps and bounds, massive improvement.

Ta mate...I don't mind it...for pressing and bodybuilding stuff I like it but for this kind of thing I hate it...needed doing though so it was done. Better next week, especially with calories going up Happy

Squats are feeling good with the complete change back to high bar...I feel it suits me better in the long run...will see how it goes the coming months Happy

The pb train just keeps chugging along mate, nice Happy.
Nice benching and deadlifting mate. I must agree with Mr Nails, the squat really has come on a lot.

Must admit I am not really a fan of early morning or late night workouts, no idea why, just not a fan. Prefer 4-5ish before tea, unfortunately never actually get to workout at that time.

Ta mate...yes its weird...I have suddenly switched back to high bar and its feeling very good...I think I can soon work up to 220+ this way if I play it right.

Yes agreed mate...early stuff not optimal...I prefer 9-10am sessions the most Happy gotta do what you gotta do tho I guess lol.
