Not the best of days...picked up a slight niggle/injury...pec insertion to right delt...it felt pretty sore and tight, did my main work and backed off. Icing and pec release needed asap. Still got my pb's in and felt ok but I was very careful. Bench Press - Wk 9 60kg x 20 80kg x 15 100kg x 5 120kg x 5 140kg x 1 160kg x 3 rep pb 160kg x 3 rep pb + volume pb paused 165kg x 1 Eveything moved ok but I was aware insertion wasn't feeling 100% and it wrecked speed but all moved ok considering, second set felt better than the 1st. Did a paused single after. Did a ton of stretching before and during sets. CGBP Left it today, not worth the risk. Pec Dec 44kg x 40 44kg x 40 44kg x 40 Added these to flush blood through the area, made it feel pretty good tbf. AMH Press 5 x 5 Added these in to see if they help unlock those neural pathways, felt odd but actually very effective. EZ Preacher Curls 55kg x 6 rep pb 50kg x 8 50kg x 6 50kg x 6 volume pb Creeping up nicely, biceps screaming. Bench Grip Tricep Pressaways 25kg x 20 35kg x 15 40kg x 12 45kg x 10 50kg x 8 all default pbs The best way I have ever done a 'pressdown', feel like it has a good carryover to bench and triceps massively pumped. Finished off with some stretching and got my rubber ball into the insertion to try and release a few things, felt ok, just need to be a little careful this week, I don't want a tear at this point. I'm interested to see how the AMH press works out. It seems simple enough to just slot in without impacting recovery. | ||

Cheers mate...this tendon issue is a PITA but missus reckons she can fix it so just icing for now...need to hit 165kg x 3 for 2 sets ideally next Monday. AMH press felt good tbh mate, I can see where Aaron is coming from. | ||

Morning BW - 107kg Deadlifts Week 9 60kg x 10 100kg x 5 140kg x 3 180kg x 3 220kg x 1 260kg x 1 280kg x 3 (old triple pb) 290kg x 3 triple pb Well i'm certainly not used to repping the heavy weights as yet,out of practice but these went ok. 280kg felt comfy, could have had 5 or 6 probably, toyed with doing that on the second set but I need to start pushing things up and get used to the heavy weight again. 290kg x 3 moved ok, pretty maximal for today I feel, possibly a 4th but would have been close. Had a little light headed moment after but it soon passed. Things increasing rapidly now...need 310kg x 2 in the coming weeks, time to push. Power Rows 185kg x 3 rep pb 185kg x 3 185kg x 3 volume pb More there on each set but limiting how much work I am getting in as deads beating me a little now. Close Grip Pulldowns 100kg x 10 rep pb 105kg x 6 rep pb 95kg x 10 volume pb Was a tad worried how pec tendon would feel here but zero issues and strength again on the up quite quickly...good long ROM and a deep contraction. Reverse Cable X Overs 25kg x 15 25kg x 15 25kg x 15 25kg x 15 Felt great on rear delts and upper back, great pump and good flush of blood through. Lying Hamstring Curls 75kg x 5 65kg x 10 55kg x 12 Had to lower weight this week...hams battered from the pulls but good reps. And that was that...day off tomorrow then some tentative benching or just upper body bodybuilding work if not.. Vid... | ||

Bench Press Against Bands Bar x 20 60kg x 10 80kg x 5 100kg x 5 110kg x 3 120kg x 1 130kg x 3 (160-170kg at top) rep pb 100kg x 3 100kg x 3 100kg x 3 100kg x 3 100kg x 3 100kg x 3 100kg x 3 100kg x 3 Pleased with that...everything feeling ok and moving nicely, was sensible though and limited top end work today, did a new top triple then hit up some speed work, felt really good and speed was on point. Very happy with this today. AMH Press 20kg x 5 20kg x 5 20kg x 5 25kg x 5 25kg x 5 These are clicking nicely now, will see how they help the bar path on my normal benching, when Aaron speaks I tend to listen so will be nailing these for some time. Cable Side Lateral Raises 17.5kg x 15 rep pb 17.5kg x 12 17.5kg x 12 17.5kg x 12 15kg x 10 15kg x 10 volume pb The pain of the pump in side delts was horrendous...I just couldn't put arms anywhere to ease it off...damn it was so painful but such an effective movement, I can't ever see myself doing dumbbell laterals again. Reverse Grip Cable Pressdowns 35kg x 10 rep pb 35kg x 9 35kg x 8 35kg x 8 volume pb Triceps burning like mad, again crazy pumps today. Machine Preacher Curls 60kg x 14 rep pb 60kg x 10 50kg x 10 40kg x 10 Insane pump, biceps blew up like crazy and again it was one of those pumps that hurt so bad and I couldn't get my arms to ease from it, strength well up though, felt great. And that was that, great session. Paused beltless squat pb required tomorrow of 177.5kg x 3, 190kg was my old max...will be doing them first for first time in months so will be interesting to see how they feel fresh. Vid... | ||
