Man, I knew it was only a matter of time before you busted out the "hater" nonsense. You don't have "haters", who are you, Beyonce? You just have a bunch of guys wondering why you feel you are different to everyone else in that you think your work and weird exercises in the gym will bring on the most basic of movements, the squat and the deadlift, whereas 99% of the rest of the world who does these exercises and is good at them does these exercises often without any other replacements.

You come into my log just to flat out tell me i'm lying, even though you really know nothing about me. This is hating.

Or on the flip side, if you are doing that stuff at work, why are you going to a gym to do it?

Was more going for the angle of:

If he's saying he's staying away from squats etc in the gym because he'll get injured, how is he managing to do it for 50 hours a week in his job with infinitely more awkward objects lol.

CJR said:Surely if you're doing squats, presses and deadlifts for 50 hours a week in your job (with a rounded back I gather?) as you say you do, you can quite easily do some ACTUAL squats, presses and deads in the gym with a real bar for a couple of extra hours a week instead of doing all the useless machine work?!

Why rounded back?

Big difference between doing them and pushing them in a training cycle. Machines are not useless, you just think they are.

Chill out guys!

I haven't trained back squats or dead lifts for several years.

I know, it's like they poke me with a deadlift or squat stick every week. I'm not going to get injured just to please others.

No, what's laughable is you have no f**king idea what you are talking about, yet are telling a guy his job that he's done for a decade. I literally do squats, deadlifts and presses the same as you or anybody else does on a bar, it's just with a rounded grip most of the time. Also lifting a carpet is no different than lifting a stone, so by your genius comment, stone lifting is also 'laughable'.

Explain to me how you are doing exact imitations all these gym movements whilst moving some carpet...please!

It isn't "hating", unless you are 13 years old and want attention for people not understanding you. If JC says you are talking s**te, he means you are talking s**te. Hating is calling you a loser who won't achieve your goals and are weak as piss and will never be anything in strength sports, which absolutely nobody has said. So enough of this "hater" bulls**t. This isn't Jeremy Kyle!

I personally haven't done any of these things. In all my posts to you I have been nothing but respectful with my questions. You always and without fail find a way to avoid actually answering anything unless its combining it with other people's comments and you just paint it all as negativity and just don't say anything useful.

Really though, the post you quoted - all I asked was why do you think you can get away without doing those exercises when everyone else needs to do them? And if your work trains those lifts, why do you even go to the gym?

Carpets are sold off racks, 4 carpets each side of the rack, location A,B,C and D. Each carpet is wound onto a bar, so for a location move, to put the carpet onto the rack, i put a large wheel in each end of the bar, one side is high pulled/shruged up to location C, the other end is then deadlifted to location C, each end is then front squatted to location B, and then pressed overhead to location A. I also do some of this when i wind the carpets onto bars, as if the pile direction is the wrong way, i have to lift the carpet onto the rack before pulling it off to wind it on the right way. To be exact, this is a deficit deadlift, bottom up front squat, and viking press.

And these carpets are around 400kg?
