Ok so that will do it for bulking/supplementing, calling it there. Pretty much accomplished everything I wanted to perfectly in the end so good enough, only thing is bodyweight goal but biggest and heaviest I've been at least.

So quick year in review..

Overall 2016 was a great year, Becca's really helped push me to the next level / I've worked very hard this year. Got to the strongest I've been all around, biggest I've been, plus took my grip to the next level, at world record or around it for a lot of the grip lifts now. Very much on track for a big 2017.

Just weighed in at 146.8kg so ended up hitting the 23 stone weight goal too (23 stone 2lb).

Rehab - light side bends, light russian twists, 3 x 10 hyper extensions, added 2.5/5kg to last sets, 3 x 10 lying leg raise and bunch of stretching, some dynamic. Range of motion limited to without pain or slight pain. Also did 3 sets leg extensions 145lb x 10 reps.

Hurt my left wrist a little on Monday so kept top set to 20 on bench to be safe. Becca is now doing rehab every morning, 10 minutes rower, followed by core / glute exercises and stretching.

Some of the competitors at the European grip championships have just done there national championships using the same events and some world records were beat. Is looking like a really high level comp so I have to come in as strong as possible. After coming off 'supplementing' so far I have only dropped to 22 and a half stone so hopefully should be coming into the comp at best part of 25 stone as strong as I can at the events. Can't do any more than that.

Is there anyone there in particular who you think could be a potential winner?

On another grip-related note - do you think you would be able to compete in the Hercules Hold event (one with the pillars falling outwards and the competitor in the middle gripping handles) against a WSM field?

It's in May. Yeah, there's one I feel could beat me if I don't pull my finger out, but who knows who else will turn up also

I'd expect to win that one, would depend on my prep time and if its an event in a grip comp I'm training for though. With strongman there's only really four types of grip to train, grip on a rope, grip carrying an object (like sacks or stones), axle grip and farmer walk grip. With grip sport there's many more types you need to train so you don't sometimes train all of them and farmers grip isn't something I've had in comps or something that would help with any goals so havnt really trained that. I did a 320kg frame hold with 2" thick handles for 45 seconds once and could definitely have done a minute so I'd assume I would have a good base to work from.
