I took about £4 out of Sooty's bottom Member 685, 8719 posts SQ 225, BP 150, DL 290665.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 26.09.2009 @ 11:38 AM by PAGAN Just been talking to a guy called Ben Walker who co-owns 'Walker Barbell' , who supply oly bumper plates. He seemed like a sound bloke and certainly had me convinced that his products were worth looking at in future. If anyone is interested in getting some bumper plates I'd definately give Ben or his dad ( who's name I cant remember)a call before ordering elsewhere. Ben Walker - 07941 837567 Blog's is due to be updated shortly. http://walkerbarbell.blogspot.com/

I took about £4 out of Sooty's bottom Member 685, 8719 posts SQ 225, BP 150, DL 290665.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | At the moment he's looking at selling 100k sets ( 2x5 , 2x10, 2x15, 2x20 ) for £390 ish. Now that sounded a lot to me at first but upon further investigation that is a lot cheaper than most other brands. You can get rubber plates and rubber 'bumper grip' plates for less but these are not proper 'bumper' plates and are not designed to be dropped. Walker plates are designed for proper olympic training and designed to withstand being dropped repeatedly. If anyone knows of cheaper similar quality plates I'd love to hear !

Still mostly bodybuilding Member 501, 10465 posts SQ 220, BP 150, DL 250620.0 kgs @ 94kgs UnEq | Jesus christ. £390 for 100kg - i know there bumper plates and designed for dropping but if your training from home does it really matter if you drop them. Ive just paid £280 for 185kg of Bodypower cast iron plates and will be getting some of the rubber matting they have in gyms to deaden the sound and protect the floor. Think the mats are only £30.

a PB is a PB ! Member 539, 1086 posts | Post Edited: 27.09.2009 @ 08:15 AM by goodwinm Again I refer to Decathlon and their 140kg cast iron Olympic Set for £179.95http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/140kg-olympic-kit-4192346/ 1 x 20kg bar (2m bar but who gives a f**k for training purposes!) 2 x 2.5kg collars 4 x 1.25kg 4 x 2.5kg 2 x 5kg 2 x 10kg 2 x 15kg 2 x 20kg so for two sets which will contain 280kg (240kg of actual plates) will cost you £358.00 . I don't think that is bad at all!

Going after a skalp from Mick Member 701, 58 posts SQ 290, BP 217.5, DL 350857.5 kgs @ 137kgs UnEq | I know that others have asked this before but does anyone have any direct experience of using Goodlift from the Czech Republic ?? I am after a deadlift suit and I was shocked at their prices. A Titan suit, a T shirt and shipping to UK all only came to about £60 !!!! Pullum Sports who I have used a lot previously wanted about £145 for the same suit alone !!

If you let me know what it is you're after I can look into it if you want? Actually, suit and t-shirt for £60 is f**king cheap! Is that including postage?
