Dean, yeah it's going up well at the moment. My best ever was a tng 180 in awful sleeves. So this 175 paused is my best I've done now.

Faz, thanks pal! Got my bodyweight up from 102 to 106 and the strength gains on bench have been great! 180 soon!

Yer bodyweight for me is what helps my bench the most, its tempting to bulk back up to 108 again to try get 180, but i was a right fatty at that weight last time lol.

Maybe back to all your old numbers in 12 months time?

Yeah I'm thinking 180 will go at 108 for myself too although I'm 106 now and having a go at it Thursday.


I'm learning a lot right now mate even though I've been lifting a long time. When I was 'enhanced' and lifting my technique was poor on the squat and bench. I've worked so hard to nail technique on them and I'm now up to my 'enhanced numbers' already on them. My dead technique hasn't change much however but I'm 20-25kg down on that. So technique improvements haven't helped there as there wasn't much to improve

I'm learning how my body works and how enhanced vs natural lifting works and I'm pretty sure I can get better all my numbers by the end of the year natural (Deadlift will be hard due to the above)

But my efforts with technique, dropping strongman and event training, eating 5-6k cals a day to get my bodyweight back up to where I was before and paying a lot of attention to my supplements, sodium and creatine intake etc have taken a monumental effort and more effort than I ever gave during my strongman days. I also feel pretty proud of what I've achieved so far and I'm enjoying my training now more than ever.
