I have to admire the fact that you can do that. I also feel it necessary to say that I do so admire the way you start the sentence with "just a few" Those three words inject a level of pococurante and nonchalance that others* merely dream of *others in this instance being me. | ||

A long time ago as a climber I used to do a lot of pull ups, 100 or so a day would not be unusual, so it does feel like I'm screwing about when I do sets of 5 That was about 20 years and 5 stone ago though! | ||

Deads 70x5 110x5 150x3 190x1 210x1 230x1 245x3 245x3 245x3 Feeling good on the top sets, managed to get the first rep moving at a decent speed for a change as well. Last set on squats and deads: Feeling decent tonight, less fatigued now, more fired up for deads which felt easy. | ||

Plyometric press ups x5 x5 x5 x5 x5 Think I'll swap the pin presses out for slingshot next time round, could do with some decent weight on the full movement. | ||

Middle set: Plyometric press ups x5 x5 x5 x5 x5 Not feeling great today, just a little drained from yesterday I think. Got the weekend to rest and then starting with heavy doubles and triples for the next two weeks. | ||

Mixed bag, the 180x3 was close and if I didn't get any help on the 190x2 then it's the best double I've done in a long time. Got a heavy double and a single at a helf decent weight next week so hopefully they will go better. The 160x1, 180x3, 190x2: Plyometric press ups x5 x5 x5 x5 x5 Despite benching not going smoothly it is feeling decent at the moment. | ||

Second rep decent speed off the floor but I realised I wasn't going to get it just past my knees and ditched it. The 280x2 would have been an equal pb, and it wasn't too far off. Still a little off my best, but an improvement on last cycle. Squats, ballistic turnaround 60x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 75x2 I always squat first and doing them second tonight was a big mistake, very tight for them, felt sluggish and slow :/ lesson learned. Another heavy week next week, volume is right down at the moment so hopefully I'll feel a little better recovered by then. | ||

Deads, ballistic turnaround 60x5 100x2 100x2 100x2 100x2 100x2 100x2 Terrible squatting, I just don't feel like I'm recovered properly at the moment. Next cycle I'm going to try going lighter in my buildup see if that helps. Last cycle I had a small lower back injury which made me back off a touch and I got a 250 squat with a decent bit more in the tank. | ||

To be honest mate I don't think I would be able to train like that for long anyway. My main problem is pushing it too much when I know I should be backing off a little, I was just pissed off when I wrote that! This last cycle has been particularly grueling though and I feel like squats especially are suffering because of it. So yeah, foot off the pedal just a touch might be for the best. As it is I have a light / fast couple of sessions next week then max out probably a week Friday, so I'll see how that goes, a good session then will totally reverse my outlook Tuesday 21/03/17 Bench 20x5 20x5 20x5 60x5 100x3 120x1 140x1 160x1 175x1 185x2 - little wobble on the second rep nearly screwed me but managed to finish it off 195x1 - Tough rep and not pretty, second heaviest rep I've done in 3 years though. The 160x1, 175x1, 185x2, 195x1: Not sure how tonight was going to go after failing 180x3 last week, reasonably happy with it though. | ||
