Don't get me wrong, significant progress was made in 2011 but I want to be more sensible and less meathead with my 2012 training. 2011 had many PBS for me but also back injuries which definitely put a downer on it. In 2012 I would like to achieve the following goals: START GOAL CURRENT High bar no wraps. 192.5 220 200 Squat with wraps. 220 240 Front squat no wraps 145 160 160 Front squat wraps. 150 180 not done Push press. 115 130 120- 135 btn Bench press. 135 150 142.5 Deadlift uneq. 245 260 Deadlift eq. N/a. 272.5 Log C+P 116 125 125 Axle ftoh 110 125 115 Yoke 25m 305 350 320 Farmers 25m 125 140 I also aim to get in better shape and stay flexible all the time. I want to no longer be a novice by the end of 2012, and be considered an intermediate competitor or a decent 105kg level competitor. | ||

These are good, i think paused fronts will stay on this day for a while longer, either paused singles or doubles next week at 120. Walking DB Lunges supersetted with decline sit ups 15kg/hand x 8/leg bwx10 15kg/hand x 8/leg bwx10 15kg/hand x 8/leg bwx10 I was happy to get through these, my last attempt at the walking lunges did not fare so well, was only able to complete a single set before glute cramp took it's toll on me Romanian Deadlifts to knee level 60kg x 12 100kg x 10 140kg x 8-10 i forget Decent session, served its purpose | ||

It's a good question, i wasn't very clear cause i assumed no one gave a s**t apart from me lol. I suffered a back injury on two separate occasions in 2011 and both of them can be explained by my ridiculous training in the gym at the time. I have come to the realisation that i am in fact human and cannot train deadlifts several times a week. Looking back i see that deadlift pbs came when the previous week was either a week off or a forced deload week and injuries came shortly after heavy 18" deadlifts or when deadlift frequency had increased to more than once or twice a week. So, my intention is to squat twice a week (best gains on squat have come with two-three times a week frequency) and deadlifting heavy once every fortnight alternating with speed deadlifts. I'm also going to listen to VanillaGorilla and if at any point he tells me i should be doing something or what i'm doing is silly i will take his advice, as it would appear he knows a f**k load about training! | ||
