Saturday 12th August.

East Midland Masters at Yardley.

Weighed in at 114.75kg.

Squat.
Warmed up with:-
2 x 5 x 20
5 x 60
3 x 100
1 x 130
1 x 145
1 x 155
Platform:-
165 3 whites.
175 3 whites.
180 3 whites.
Had not intended to take a 3rd squat but my ego get's in the way of my plans.

Bench.
Warmed up with:-
15 x 20
8 x 60
3 x 100 somehow forgot that I had not done my set at 80.
2 x 110 last press paused.
Platform:-
115 3 whites.
120 3 whites.
125 3 whites.
Again, had not planned on a third lift but the youngsters were keeping up with me!

Deadlift.
Warmed up with:-
5 x 70
3 x 120
1 x 170
1 x 195
Platform:-
200 3 whites.
215 3 whites.
220 Failed at knees, poor technique meant that with the bar at my knees my legs were straight and I had 220kg hanging of my bent over back. Put it down before I injured myself. Again, had no plans for a third lift but i'm weak mentally!

Warm ups were not as i'd have liked and 220 has been going in the gym, however a 520 total, is about where I need to be at present.

Hey, that's a pretty good performance Ian, particularly in relation to what you were saying beforehand. 8 out of 9, failure on the last deadlift. Looks like something from one of my comps

Thanks for the kind words chaps, i'm still a little disappointed with myself, one, for not sticking with my planned 2 lifts strategy and two, for loosing form on that last 220 deadlift. Moving on.

Monday 14th August.
Training time will be at a premium between now and my next competition so straight back on it. I'll be hitting reps at 2's and 3's between now and the end of the month, then taking a couple of weeks away from the gym before starting a 12 week build up to the qualifier.

Nine lifters at the Farm tonight, good turnout.
Weighed in at 117.35kg, didn't take long to put that weight back on!

8 lifters at the Farm tonight. Feeling rough, I think the weekend is starting to catch up, really had to push myself to finish the deadlifts.

Monday 11th September.

Tonight was my return after another two weeks away from the gym and also the start of the 12 week run up to the European Masters Qualifier.
Weighed in at 117.85kg, ideally i'd like to drop a few kilos before December, mainly just so as I feel fitter!
Tonight was a light session, just to get used to bending my knees and elbows again.
