If you train by percentages you could probably lift 85-90% of your 1 rep max on normal squat. Maybe more. I'd definitely only do working sets of 2-3 reps though, too much like hard work otherwise I am planning to do the masters in December, looks like it will count as a national event as well. | ||

The 2017 Masters has already happened in Belfast back in March and the actual 2018 Masters will also be in Belfast towards the end of 2018, from which international selection for 2019 will happen. The additional event this December is happening because next year will see the first ever Classic European Masters in March. 2018 will be my first year as an M3. | ||

Bench should have been 102.5kg, so pleased with it. Close grip was hard as arms already fried. Rest was just bro stuff. Weight 92.1kg after training | ||

Not too difficult. Pendlay rows felt strong. Weight 92.4kg | ||

Paused squats felt good, especially the first set, which fairly flew. Last set got the breathing a bit wrong on one rep..oops! Deadlifts felt pretty easy today, as they should. Weight 92.5kg. | ||

The bench, in particular, even though the last rep of the last set was a grinder, was pleasing. Close grip was harder, my triceps were a bit fried, and in truth, had not recovered properly from Friday. Weight this morning 93.1kg | ||

Lack of sleep, training immediately after alcohol and heavy workload have taken their toll. Squats felt quite dynamic and were deep, but I soon ran out of steam. Deads were fine. Weight 92.4kg | ||

Actually today was not after booze, but recently rather more than I'd like have been, like yesterday. As for squat volume, I think if you are still getting newbie or rather comeback gains, stick with the one top set. It's just that can lead to such high intensity that you need to be increasingly motivated or caffeine enriched to make further gains. | ||

Bench was relatively straightforward. Strict press actually felt quite good and another set was there. Pendlay rows were hard, as were lat raises. Weight 93.1kg | ||
