I just want to start by saying what a f**king great bunch of guys there was so many so much better than they was last year (me included). What a great field.I'm laying on the sofa f**ked now so I decided ill do a write up sorry to bore everyone....

Event 1 - axle 130kg c&p

What a f**k up I had with this. I had been doing 3 sets of 5 with this I just completely f**ked the 4th clean by landing in a pothole and my head was gone from there. Bu 3 put me 3rd so was not happy but still top.

Event 2 - 500kg tyre.
I'm glad everyone got to see how nice the grip wass but also how horrible the weight was also lol. Once again 4 easy flips really but the ground was f**kedf and the 5th rep slipped and I wasn't burning energy as 4 put me in 2nd

Event 3 - 130kg farmers
I am not a lover of the farmers and today I finished them both up and down with no drops and kept high points so was happy.

Event 4 - car deadlift
Heavisest thing I've deadlifted. Made mistake not wearing suit pulled 2 reps and left it as beasts like dane made 10 reps look f**king easy

Event 5 - yoke 330
The yoke that was used throws you everywhere and ground is terrible. Idea was to get start to finish. I did that and was happy. JC most amazing thing I saw all day on that yoke f**king animal fairplay

Event 6 - dumbell 75kg
Normally this is good event for me... 8 reps and on 9th I twinged my torn pec. After the little twinge my head had gone and left it there I wouldn't of got more this really pissed me off as I've done 12 in training many occassions

Event 7 - kegs
I knew I had to smash this event and I did all I could and lucky for me It eent in my favour. Really happy with the performance here as by now my body was f**ked from too much sun and the battering.

Massive appreciation to all the athletes all amazing all 14 top boys in the uk. Brilliaint comp and thanks to everyone who took part and massive thank you to my training partner and best mate chris gearing there week in week out together puttin in the hours in the events and gym and just for being a f**king good pal and sorting my head out.

Massive thanks to my coach paul wood. Mr cherry for putting on a great show and all the great people I've had around me to help me make this happen.

As you can tell overwhelmed and emotional so ill shut up now. Thanks again guys

Freddy is a beast and was unlucky to injure his back and a jolly nice guy, he gave me a chocolate donut 1st thing this morning after the weigh in and I wish him the best when he becomes an open beast!

Cheers Mrs Damo. Go and slag a load of people off in their journals and get him in trouble while he sleeps. Lol

Really enjoyable comp yesterday...superb venue with even better weather

Started my drive down at 4.30am Sunday morning with Marsbar in tow...arrived at venue about 9am. Was stuffing my self with food and water on the way down, and this looked like a seriously bad idea when I hit the scales at 105.7KG Eek Sweat shorts and T-shirt came off, and to my relief was bang on 105.0KG Grin

Event 1 - 130KG Axle
Powercleaned and pressed 120KG in the warmup no probs, so was pretty confident I could do the same with 130...I was wrong lol. Failed the powerclean, failed a thumbless powerclean, then failed a belt clean....no f**king reps! Wasn't unexpected though, so no biggie

Last Place - 0 points

Event 2 - 500KG Tyre
The 3-4 guys bfore me had got between 3-4 reps, so knew it was f**king heavy. Getting it off the floor was the easy bit, but felt heavy as f**k once it was on the knee. Managed to do one flip, then was halfway though the 2nd when my feet slipped on the grass and lost it! Tried again, but nothing left

1 Flip - Joint 2nd last - 1.5 points?

Event 3 - 130KG Farmers x 30m (Drop & Turn at 15)
Knew these sould be pretty comfortable and fast. Pick up was easy, and did a fastish first 15m. In hindisght, spent too long with the turn and repick up, although I did a very fast 2nd 15m. John Rudgard beat me by 0.5 into 2nd place, as I got a time of 17.86secs

13 points

Event 4 - Deadlift
Was pretty anxious about this having seen a lot of the field no rep, but once Marsbar went before me and got 10 reps, I knew I'd at least get one. As it was, only managed to grind out 2 reps, which got me joint 5th with Sean I think. I reckon it was about the equivalent to 160-65 farmers pickup...heavy!

Joint 5th = 9.5 points?

Event 5 - 330KG Yoke
I was pretty worried about this beforehand, as I'd really hurt my sore knee on deads...just wrapped it really tight and it was fine though. As with farmers, pretty comfortable weight and run for me, just dissapointed I didnt do the 1st half as quick as the 2nd.

10.33secs - 1st place - 14 points

Event 6 - 70KG Dumbell
Have been failing 68 in training, so was confident about this, especially after seeing Marsbar no rep, and we always tend to be very similar on bell. As it happened it wasn't too bad. Managed to grind out 4 presses, failing a 5th on lockout

4 reps - 10th place? - 5 points

Event 7 - Kegs
Am terrible at kegs, so was ubber relaxed for this. Managed to do 3 of the 8, before failing miserably a couple of times with the 4th.

13th place - 2points

Finished 8th out of 14 at the end of the day, but I think I was only 8-9 points off 4th, so given I got 3.5 points from 3 events, I cant be too displeased with that. Different OH event and could have sneaked top 5 I think

Sean, Goz and Daz were outstanding yesterday, definitely the 3 best athletes on the field. Not much between Sean and Daz all day, both were very consistent and the last event made for an exciting conclusion to the day

Event of the day was Goz on the axle...f**king beautiful

Big thanks to Marc for running a very good comp...had an enjoyable day. Had a great crack with all the 105 boys, great bunch
