Before WSM he was the best strongman ever big time, now 'probably'?
Whats going on mate?

I think Pudz is the best strongman of all time. Z a close second.

I'm also biased towards Magnus Ver after he welcomed me and the wife openly into his gym in Iceland. He really is a gent too.

Pudz has to be the greatest ever. 5 wins of 9 finals and beat everyone of the era there was to beat

I give Shaw the edge because I think he has fewer weaknesses. He also has done well at both Arnold's and WSM.

I agree that Pudz was the dominant name in WSM and won it 5 times, no-ones beaten that

But, greatest strongman ever, no...

He simply didn't do well at the Arnolds and he never competed in IFSA, IMO, because he knew that he'd not do well against the likes of Misha, Z, Virastyuk et al

I still stand by that Z has been the best strongman there has been/with the most accolades etc, Pudz was excellent and so is Shaw, only time will tell if Shaw can do better

Fully agree Happy Shaw will continue to improve and compete I am sure or at least I am hopeful to see him continue.

I agree with your post. Z is still number one because of total titles and world records. Though I think Shaw is slightly better head to head.

Pudz was class too! He suited WSM. He might not have done well in Arnold's, but he won loads of comps. He said in an interview in 2005, he beat Z in 17 of 20 comps.

Deadlift champs seems like it will be pointless.

Ed dieting down
Doubt Thor will do it
Shaw injured
Pritchett injured

Thor will do it for the paycheck

I wish George Leeman would train for it again

If Tom Martin took a year out from powerlifting and practiced with a suit, he would hit 440 plus without a hitch. He should do Giants live.

Deadlift champs is a bit less of an attraction now.

We are unlikely to see anything too crazy, the 500 landmark has already been set, and who can beat that?

Jerry?
Shaw?

Ed could beat it, but does he want too?

I'd say even more if he pulled 472.5 like that!

Most likely.

Is anyone capable of pushing him though? Will any sponsors put up a sum of cash big enough to make Ed want to do it?

With his focus off worlds, any new goals or world record challenges will have to come with a very hefty pay day attached.
