sounds like a good plan , no particular goals at the moment other than to look and feel better and get stronger.

dumbell curls 15k 10/10/10

squats actually didn't feel too bad , I almost enjoyed them.

Amazing that you are squatting so much, esp with your old grandma legs !! I'm still way under that ned, but I am enjoying progressing

I have SBD knee sleeves (and a belt) but I'm not using them until I'm squatting 'what ned can squat'

thanks Boarski , I have been eating all the right stuff and plenty of it and it seems to have helped a lot! plus my job is pretty physical so i suppose i hang on to a bit of residual strength (except deadlift which was truly f**king awful). sometimes i think starting training again is the best bit with the easy gains and the feeling great.


benchpress today :

80kx5 85kx5 87.5kx5 to 100mm board 95kx5 to 50mm board 90kx5

dumbell overhead press 15kx10 20kx7/7/7/7

most enjoyable and only took 40 minutes.

no , I believe he's still competing , he certainly posts a fair bit of competition stuff on facebook , usually of the "things didnt go as planned, felt ill , lifted more in the build up" variety.

another 45 minute session , as far as squatting goes it was enjoyable

still got some wobbly bits at 78kg! has crossed my mind to drop some more but I dont know how the ego will take any more strength losses.

ha ha yes its the age old problem of the mind wanting you to look like a ripped god and also wanting you to be at your absolute maximum strength , sadly it probably isnt going to happen for most of us without assistance.

today:

deadlift 110kx3 120kx3 130kx3 140kx3 still horrible but better than last week.

pin press 3" off chest 90kx5 90kx4 belt and wraps off feet up 80kx5/5

felt tired and my legs and back were still aching from thursday, will have a rest tomorrow.

Keep those paused reps going mate, really helped my bench when I did them. I found doing normal reps followed by 3x3 on paused increasing every week worked best for me.
