Alright chaps.

Been on VGs forced entry method for roughly 5 weeks now and have achieved the following:

+17.5kg on low bar squat
+7.5kg on deadlift (wasn't a true max effort though)
+30kg on deficit deadlift
+24kg on front squat
+0kg on bench (lol)

all beltless too.

Pretty happy with that tbh. It's coming up to exam period so ill be living in the library and wont be able to lift every day so was wondering if I should change the RE squat (repetition effort) days from front squat to back squat and ME squat from back squat?

The reasoning behind this is that I have reached a long term goal (200kg squat) and now would like to get some volume in for back squat and see what i'm really capable of at front squat (only maxed after doing 5x5 first)

Thoughts?

PS actually benching now so should add a few kilos soonish!

Only supposed to be 3-4/week anyway.

You can swap the me from back to front squat if u want and do back on re.

Also I notices from your log, which you're nt doing, the assistance on Me day is supposed to be a giant set. So e.g. Me press- db seated, db incline, tris all after each other.

Might not matter but will definitely save tine

This is a good point, but in the uni gym it is nigh on impossible to get the right bits of kit when you need them. Barbells and platforms are always empty though. Will remember this next ME day.

Glad you're getting some results from.the method mate!

Yea the suggestions you mention are fine, no harm on switching around the lifts and their emphasis. I'd recommend doing this every few cycles anyway to be honest.

The best progress I have ever made. The only other change i've made is eating more carbs post training.

Could you post the sets/reps/exercises? I'm making good progress with Vanilla Gorilla Presses at the moment on 5x5.

i missed the boat in this one...... is there many lifters doin this set up? im gonna give it a try me thinks over the next month or 2...cheersGrin

the thing is with these westside style of routines, is that i never feel that ive done enough when i leave the gym... especially on DE days... but will give it a go.

Thats basically what the DE days are about. Submaximal weight with maximal speed. Then you've got assistance to make it 'feel' like you've done enough.
