Shaw is too good at the minute. The keg toss and deadlift were ridiculous. He could of went for 20 reps!

Dislocated fingers or not. Ed isn't beating that man at WSM, when he's in that form.

I was thinking he looked good for 20 reps too! Much fitter than Ed on the deadlift. If Z could beat Shaw at WSM, then in theory Ed could too. Can't see it happening though.

f**k I hate bashing Ed, but he isn't as good as Z. Z had so few weaknesses in his pomp. If Ed improves, then he can Win. But I have a feeling he is happy enough to win deadlift championships.

I think Thor was the most impressive in the group stages. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't win it one day. He has placed above Shaw in the final before

If I was to make a prediction based on the heats I would put Thor as my favourite to win last year. Hes a very real threat.
The guys a monster and showed how easy he can make this look whilst working a full time job on set!

This is why i think Shaw will stay ahead of Thor. Thor may well have the tools to beat Brian, but he isnt as committed to the sport.
Shaws whole life is built around being the WSM, no other top strongman is as committed to winning the top title.

I think that's Shaws key. I remember a few years back when Eddie went to WSM without ever training events, compare that to Shaw who said he was confident in the keg toss because he'd been doing practise runs at home with a higher bar and heavier keg.

It will be interesting. Thor has got Sebastian Oreb doing his programming and Stan efferding doing his diet and nutrition now. Shaw has also been cast in a film with Thor I believe

Thor is already the strongest man to never win the title. Hope he doesn't retire with that. He has great all round ability.

He's 6 years younger than Shaw so plenty of time. Shaw won his first one 6 years ago. Thor has done better than Shaw up to this age

Did Thor start younger than Shaw? If Thor is motivated, he will definitely win titles.

He did on the worlds strongest man circuit but I'm not sure about strongman in general

Well he has next year to win both Arnold and Wsm to match Shaw, when he first won them at 29.

So frustrating just seeing the same 3 guys do every event. Surely they can find the time to show the likes of Janashia, Licis, Caron and Kieliszkowski?
