I'm daft. Member 6148, 93 posts | BrenWad said: Kaz was as strong in squat, bench and powerlifting raw deadlift as anybody competing now. LessThanLuke said: Yup. I think people forget this. ... and I think you forget that Kaz was one of the very few who lifted those weights. Neither Jon Pall, Ahola nor Samuelsson or Ver Magnússon was close to those weights. Kaz was one of a kind, and what he could have accomplished today, if he ate himself up to Ed-size and trained like today's professionals ... I can't imagine.

AKA the great reset Member 4056, 5206 posts | I actually think for his time, Kaz was stronger than any of them. His numbers were HUGE for his bodyweight and his time. Kaz could of won far more comps if he never had the break from competing.

Barely any arch, skinny bench.

It's a moonface era now. Member 5901, 956 posts | Answers are obvious... Insulin, quality gh for those who can afford it, competing 2 times a year.

If genetics is about handling huge amount of drugs .... for sure hes a freak. Is he strong naturally, how can anybody know, he takes drugs since teenager. This is the main misconception in strength sports including bodybuilding. Ive been saying it many times. Just because someone is strong naturally doesnt mean he will be massivelly stronger on drugs. Different people respond very different on drugs. Ive witnessed this so many times. For me the best are those who respond tremendously good or take a lot and not get serious health problems. Training, eating, sleeeping everybody does it, but responding great ... a few do it. Drugs put into sport big subjectiveness, thats why u cant say who has the best potential, but for sure u can say who wins the competition and this is what remains in the history.

End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | Most if not all of the top strongmen were good at sports before they took drugs. But drug response is a part of it for sure. But saying it is all drugs undermines their hardwork and genetics.
