To be fair benzel must have pissed off one of the organisers as that's the second year he's been a reserve with far inferior athletes getting the nod ahead of him.

To be honest it looks like z was very fortunate to make the final and wouldn't have made it if benzel hadn't broken himself.

Good to see loz making it through as he had a tough group and I expected it to be a bit of a toss up between him and shivlyakov for a final place. Hall will be chuffed loz is through as he might take some points off thor and shaw on squat. Can't see many other finalists who will trouble those two on the press though.

Gutted Terry didn't make it through. He looked great at Europe's and in training leading up to the comp. I wonder what happened

Same as every time...OHP events.

Looks like the stones got lighter this year in the final compared to last year.

Advantage to Thor and Hall

Gutted for terry, I fancied him for 4th this year.
Good news for Eddie though. Terry would have beaten him on truck pull and as already said Loz is capable of beating shaw and Thor on squat

Licis may do some damage in squat as well. Kieliskowski is good overhead but his fitness means he scores higher with a clean involved than a strict press.

As much as i respect Terrys record the reality is IF he has 0 repped a 162 axle and IF that has cost him a place in the final then he can have no complaints.

If you cant get a 162kg axle overhead you have no business being considered for the title of WSM.

Not at all surprised to see Loz make it through, hopefully he can help Hall out on squat, though im not sure id bet on it.

Looking at the results those who did well only got a few reps - maybe harder than a standard axle press?

Thor could have pressed that thing 8 times if he wanted. He just cruised.
It wasn't harder. The big ohp are just so dominant that its enough for them to do just 3 or so.
Savickas struggled with one arm. But thats clearly because of his injury.

Not looking good for terry if he can't get through in the easiest group

Just seen him do the stones. Way too light that stone, looked more like a cardio event to me

Did you not see him at Europe's? Looked extremely impressive and he's never liked one day events. Remember he beat janashai!!!

Drag event too heavy

Stone too light and a stupid event overall

Final event will be the same with bad choices for weights.

Squats/viking will be won with 15+ reps

Stones now got lighter despite many finishing last year comfortably

Drag probably going to be heavy again

Deadlift max the same as last year

Truck pull probably the same as last year when moving along nicely then hits an incline and no one completes and everyone finishes in about 2m of each other.

Europe's strongest man was a well put together event. This WSM just seems bad.

I'm not licking arse, but don't kick Terry when he's down. He's still a great strongman and he has always shown humility on here.

He would probably appreciate the support that most show on here.
