Ask Becca about this

Eddie does carb up, remember reading about it in an article where he listed everything he does pre comp and post comp etc.

Paul has always had me carb up for comps and he does carb cycling throughout the week for me aswell.

Paul always gets me 100% peaked in the day and carb loadings a big part of that.

Seems youre assuming that openweight competitors are always fully carbed?? Are you forgetting about the massive amounts of protein thats typically had?

What the hell has protein consumption got to do with being carbed up?

(answer = nothing)

and no offence Becca but Paul works out your calorie intake by licking his finger, placing it in the air and seeing which way the wind blows. It's hardly a scientific approach is it?

And if he knew anything about glycogen storage he'd know that the body can't carb load without first depleting. Then again, I suppose my degree counts for nothing as that's all science and hocus pocus

Worlds was not a much heavier comp.
400kg dead for reps, 470kg yoke, 470kg frame carry, stones up to 200kg.

Don't think those are the right weights, the yoke and frame looked easy for everybody really. Everybody was in 9-12 second range, speed work essentially. 400kg for reps is light for ed. Stones also light, he would one motion them all no problem. 150kg log very light for ed.

Your degrees clearly do count for nothing. If I'm so bad, why is Becca completely destroying both strength sports she does? Please explain this

You don't need to be carb depleted to carb up, I will explain it after the gym. Also you clearly haven't thought that guys like ed will use insulin.

Just put my finger in the air though and there's no wind today...humm, I guess no food for you Becca haha

You don't need to be carb depleted to carb up, I will explain it after the gym. Also you clearly haven't thought that guys like ed will use insulin. INSULIN WILL STILL ONLY CAUSE SUPEPCOMPENSATION FOR A LIMITED PERIOD. IT'S ANABOLIC, YES, BUT THAT'S NOT NECESSARILY MEANING IT'S CAUSING EXTRA CARB LOADING. IF IT DID THEN A LOT OF STRENGTH ATHLETES WOULD BE A BIG BAG OF CARBS
Just put my finger in the air though and there's no wind today...humm, I guess no food for you Becca haha
OF COURSE SHE'S HAVING FOOD. 1,000 KCALS OF IT ALL DAY Roll-Eyes

Grin Grin Grin

Also Paul, don’t you think it’s a bit hypocritical to suggest that my degree counts for nothing but then suggest that all you achievements such as being a child angling protege are completely valid and should be taken into account?

I actually think you’re off the chart on the narcissism scale. Roll-Eyes

Of course HWs can carb up(ie eat loads of carbs) but what slim is saying is that it is utterly pointless for most as once your glycogen stores are full they are full and most HWs are constantly eating carbs.

Hey Paul, congratulations in having the only training log on Sugden to have been made a sticky. Top of the shop all day every day. Respect.

Also, nice avi. Is that the same £100 that went to Millsy's charity? That's funny. I'm not a fan of your tagline. I preferred the one about the foot, but times change and things move on. Hopefully you'll get a more betterer one soon.
