I think I'm finding a better (or at least more efficient) groove. I'll see how the next two sessions go but I'm contemplating a 10kg increment for next week. This is pure madness. | ||

I may do some odds and ends to warm up but nothing with structure. I'm just going by feel. Smolov Jr Week 2 Day 3 Starting Max of 227.5kg (7.5kg increment) Squats 70kg x 3 reps 90kg x 3 reps 120kg x 3 reps 140kg x 1 rep 160kg x 1 rep 180kg x 1 rep --Belt on 190kg x 4 reps 190kg x 4 reps 190kg x 4 reps 190kg x 4 reps 190kg x 4 reps 190kg x 4 reps 190kg x 4 reps 190kg x 4 reps Hardest day so far by a big margin. I think the cold didn't help, I kept coughing and found it very hard to remain tight. In fact getting a lung full of air was a major problem. Sets 1 and 8 on Video | ||

I've been hitting the mobility pre workout and in the evening. That's helping a lot with the soreness. I've also upped my creatine intake as I find that helps with DOMS. I also have my capsaicin rub that I apply to my joints (and probably lower back tonight). Recovery is a major issue with Smolov Jr. I can only imagine what the full blown cycle would be like. The worst issue is the cut that has appeared on my back. It's literally a barbell cut which means every set I have to position the bar right on an open wound. It's a lesson in pain tolerance for sure. | ||

Cheer mate, digging deep now. It's a big head game, the fatigue is massive and the urge to quit is very high. These are demons that must be conquered, a great example of how your mind quits before your body. I need to eat like it's my job for the next week and sleep as much as I can. I've not exactly been holding back but weight has remained constant. Fully expected to be heavier as my appetite has gone nuts. | ||
