BenchWhore | Best double ply bench shirt | 06-12-2017 @ 10:04
Member 6318, 16 posts | Hey guys new here, Next year I'll start to compete in bench only meets (GPC) and I'd love to try the equipped division, and most of the lifters there compete with multiply gear I know titan is the best for single ply shirts, but wondering what double ply is best for a first time user. I bench with an arch, wide grip, tuck a lot (use a lot of lats and rear delts) and use conjugate method. I thought about the metal ace bench shirt any opinions?

Member 1519, 1476 posts SQ 320, BP 260, DL 320900.0 kgs @ 117kgs Eq | double ply super katana or if you can find one an overkill but if you've never used a shirt before go with a single ply super katana, as a double ply will be very hard to use

Overkill is the one mendelson used right? I think they are pretty hard to find

Member 6318, 16 posts | I also forgot to ask. Whats the difference between poly shirts and denim? Denim are cheaper and velcro to close the back. I've also read that they don't stretch that quickly like other polys

Titan F6 / Fury or a comfortably fitting katana would be a decent start. If you start in a tight multiply shirt you may struggle to be able to handle the weights needed to touch and end up in a frustrating cycle. Also, train with someone who knows what they are doing!

Cheers buddy seems like single ply is the best way to start, or might buy a 2nd hand loose double ply to get used to it? Where do you find overkill shirts? Can't find a website. Btw I train with raw powerlifters

Don't think they make overkill shirts anymore so it's just second hand market for them. Could be wrong though, I'm more on the single ply side. See what crops up on facebook Powerlifting Kit for Sale, you'll probably want to try a few different shirts / cuts / sizes as they work differently and you can burn loads of cash buying new everytime. Just make sure the spotters stay close and have some fun! Where are you based?

Single ply rage-x or f6 or katana a/s if you arch. Single ply rage, fury, or katana s/s if you don't arch.
