Thanks Gents... Got worse overnight...
After I started to cough up blood I figured I needed a Dr... Turns out I have pneumonia... I have high dose antibiotics but unless they start working inside of 24 hours (they should do) I will need to go into hospital.... Really hoping it doesn't come to that... I have plans this CHRISTMAS!

I was bad...very bad, but I managed to avoid having to go to hospital.... just, i'm nearly back to normal now but I get tired quickly and i'm weak and still have a hacking cough in the mornings.. I will start training next week again after a good 2 weeks off, weighed myself this morning and despite illness and struggling to eat much I've only dropped 3lbs so happy enough with that. Will attempt to up up protein and food intake now, itching to lift but know I have to be careful. Hearing stories this week of healthy 40 year old dying from what I have had kinda brought it home to me so I will be being very careful.
New routine will be very similar to my last but the big 4 will have a lower rep/strength building angle to them before my bodybuilding stuff, i'll run this for a few months as I transition back to a full strength program and blast again.

Wow i knew i hadnt been on much didnt expect to miss to much but it sounds like you been through the ringer. Heal up soon mate maybe an extra week of recovery might be better than trying to force training.

Cheers mate... Yes been possibly the most ill I have ever been but coming back now... Just glad I avoided hospital and no lasting damage, just need to watch my lungs next few months.

Thanks John...tbh scared me...a few local people..healthy people too have dies recently from this so its a bit if a scare! Slowly coming back now.

Ok, first session in 2 weeks and after possibly the worst illness I have ever had, still struggling with my eating but feeling improved to what I was, just took things nice and steady....

Upper 1

Paused Bench Press

60kg x 10
80kg x 10
100kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 1
160kg x 1
140kg x 3
140kg x 3
140kg x 3
140kg x 3

Nice and steady, 160kg felt light which I was not expecting but moved easily, left it there and went back down to my triples with 140kg, all moved ok just lacking any explosion which is not unexpected. Felt good and no issues with my lungs.

Wide Grip Smith Behind Neck Press

60kg x 8
60kg x 8
60kg x 8

Nice and comfy and minimising total work still, delts pumped nicely and all nicely controlled.

Yellow Back Machine

103kg x 12
103kg x 12
103kg x 12

Feeling light and got a good pump.

Upright Bench Press Machine

90kg x 8
90kg x 8
90kg x 8

Again down a little from where I was but comfy and moved well and still feeling good in myself.

Pec Dec

84kg x 8

Slow controlled reps with a big squeeze, felt great.

Strict Dumbbell Lateral Raises

Arms straight out with perfect slow controlled form, maybe a smidge light still but being careful and something to build on.

Machine Preacher Curls

50kg x 8
50kg x 8
50kg x 8

Solid reps, enjoyed these.

Weighted Dips

BW + 10kg x 8
BW + 10kg x 8
BW + 10kg x 8

All moving easily and lots more there but being sensible and I can build these easily.

And that was that, felt great to be back, I was sensible but got a good session in and most importantly I am feeling ok after, lungs feeling ok, no bad coughing anymore, feels like I am slowly coming back. Just need to get my appetite back. Off tomorrow then paused deads and lower session Thursday.

Good to see you well enough to lift mate. Looks like you had a good Christmas despite knocking on deaths door. At least you managed to get some proper rest without concerns of the gym. Are you 100% now or is it still hanging on?

Thanks mate...was a major worry for a few days but coming back ok...its still there in the background as my lungs and to a certain extent heart are slightly damaged..be another 6-8 weeks before 100% probably.

Thanks John....it'll be a while before sessions are anything half decent but considering how ill I have been i'll take where I currently am!

Very very out of practice and the thing that hrt the most was my hands lol...gone soft while off. Weight felt heavy to start with due to loss of skill but soon clicked back in and they all moved quite easily...as they should really. Really enjoyed pulling again.

Hack Squats

120kg x 8

Again a slow start back..15kg down on my working weight pre illness but they moved pretty easily and got a nice quad pump going on, they will soon build back.

Lying Hamstring Curls

60kg x 10
60kg x 10
60kg x 10

Not lost much on these, very explosive and slow negatives, hams pumped up nicely..a good start.

Seated Calf Raises

40kg x 12
40kg x 12
40kg x 12

Feeling comfy enough, made sure to get a good ROM and they were hit nicely.

Kneeling Rope Crunch

35kg x 15
35kg x 15
35kg x 15

Nice little ab work to finish off on and got a good burn going, decent reps.

And that was that, still low volume and not pushing things but its coming back slowly, appetite is back too so despite weight being down i'm feeling much better. Lungs not hurting now, slight cough after lifting but nothing really. Enjoying being back, I will be one session down this week but not worried, back to normal next week.
