A few nominations for space sci-fi movies :-

Blade Runner

Alien

Event Horizon

Space 2001 A Space Odyssey

Star Wars

Others are welcome, mine is Alien still gets to me even today.
I did enjoy Life last year with Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson but not in the same league as Alien as a film but an enjoyable watch.

This!! Somehow I’ve managed to watch all the Alien films except the original. Aliens ranks mostly as one of my favourite movies of all time though, mostly!

I'm not a big viewer of films.

I did enjoy The Martian.

The Martian is a good movie, but a truly spectacular book. If you've not read it i highly recommend giving it a go.

My favourite space movie is probably Episode V. Not an original choice I'll grant, but still a very entertaining movie.

Not up there with Alien and the likes, but Pandorum is worth a watch. If your into Sci fi.

The original is an almost perfect horror movie. Aliens is an almost perfect (if dated) action movie. Smash hits in two genres, but neither is SF imo Happy.

A favourite of mine is Dark Star. More of a dark comedy but an excellent film nonetheless

Ridley Scott described Alien as a haunted house in space. It is the best horror film ever made - albeit a genre which never fails to underwhelm.

It is also one of the best sci films of all time.

My nominations in no particular order:

Alien. As above, the perfect sci fi horror.

2001: A Space Odyssey. Staggeringly forward thinking (and looking)

Blade Runner: The stylistic blueprint for sci fi for years to come.

Predator: One of the best action films of all time.

The Matrix: Mired by its sequels, the original is a thing of genius.

The Martian was brilliant, Prometheus 1/2 I thought was good, controversial I know but I didn't like interstellar as much as most, also like Paul, and Alien
