Morning all,

Have recently started lifting again after a few years focused on CV endurance type stuff.

Was wondering if you would be so kind as to offer me some advice on my deadlift form?

Thanks

I world say maybe sit back a bit more to bring your shoulders further back and directly above the bar. Then it should be a bit easier to make sure you drive through your heels from start to finish and avoid going up onto the balls of your feet at the top of the lift.

Thanks Pete, yea I think starting the lift high has been quite a long standing problem. What I found helped was taking the "flex" out the bar before pulling. As for coming up on to the balls of my feet will focus more on keeping my feet planted.

My main concern has been rounding of the lower back and looking like a scared cat, but I don't think it actually looks too bad here...

Below same tec. This man has no back issues in older age Wink And..one of the best of his day so be heartened by that and carry on with confidence.

Thanks for the link Danny, interesting watch.

Its not bad.

Maybe work on tightening up the back even more before pulling and perhaps lower your head slightly. Often works well to look at the floor two metres in front of you for at least the first half of the pull.

Great, I will try that. I usually pick a point on the wall and use that. But maybe looking at the floor will keep my head lower and back tighter.

Thanks.

Sit back a bit more, get tighter.

The lockout is too soft, lockout properly and hold it at top for longer, you're dropping down too quickly.

Well done. Very good strength level.
