End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | What is your opinion on this? I first saw that Thor put ridiculous amounts of salt on all his meals(maybe road to Arnolds vid), didn't really think anything of it, just thought he ate a repetitive diet and added flavour. Rhino does his diet. Then I saw a Shaw video recently about diet and noticed he was putting ridiculous amounts of salt on his food, he never used to do it and recently got diet advice from The Rhino. So I check out Stan's vids and this vid comes up. I have generally avoided salt due to general government guidelines or people telling everyone that they need to cut down.

I eat a lot of meat Member 5124, 2996 posts SQ 245, BP 130, DL 275650.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | Stan has been giving out tip like this for a while, but his now named Vertical Diet has been picking up a lot of attention recently. It obviously helps that he has Thor and Shaw on this, along with a few others people like Larry Wheels, Matt Wenning, Dan Green and himself. In essence, it all sounds very sensible... Eat foods that are easy to digest and don't cause gastric issues like bloating. Calories still matter, but it's more about your body using foods it can handle easily and efficiently. I'm pondering giving it a go myself, as I've had some bloating recently which has been unpleasant. Plus I do like red meat.

There is plenty of good research out there about this, google will be your friend. In short, add salt to everything

End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | What foods are easily digestible? I have always said everyone has IBS after the age of 25, so might be helpful. White rice Red meat Potatoess Eggss There doesn't appear to be much vegetables and fruit. I usually eat 8-10 a day plus lots of nuts...guessing these are hard to digest.

The fruits i eat are high...apples and dates The veg i eat are low ...broccoli, spinach and carrots. I am happy that nuts are low, generally. Maybe just swap apples with bananas. Eat porridge more frequently, eat less bread and more rice. But i am not super sensitive so dont need to be too strict. Plus i am going to put salt on all my meat.

In short, add salt to everything If you have hypertension then evidence suggests that having too much salt in your diet is probably a bad idea. For everyone else, you should probably worry more about having too little.. Too little can almost certainly cause harm, and there's no evidence that I've seen of too much being an issue.

"Too much salt" here is very likely more than anyone is ever going to consume. in fact, having adequate sodium (and potassium) in your diet actually helps reduce blood pressure... If you have hypertension, then there are other factors you need to look at before you think about your salt intake...
