Ha thanks mate, the second set was worse, I knew what was coming lol. I stuck some cloves in my water today which was actually quite effective as a little top up on pain relief.

Cheers mate, needs a bit of tweaking but all going in the right direction. I think adding in the front squats is going to help a lot.

Bloody good squatting there mate, 5kg rep pb is nothing to be sniffed at.

Nice pressing against bands too. Which bands are they you are using?

Thanks mate. I've set out some rep goals to hit so I'm checking those off. It allows me a bit of freedom while keeping me on track. For instance I may feel like going heavy and so I can aim for a 2 - 3 rep goal. Or I may not feel like I can go heavy but I can hit reps. Seems to be working so far.

There's a bit of a mix mate. The pink bands are from MyProtein and the purple once from Decathlon. Decathlon have reasonable range now and good prices, they're about £5-8 per band. They don't feel as well mate as my other bands but at that price I'm not going to argue.

Bad weekend regarding food. I've not eaten right for a good few days due to my toothache. I can only stomach room temperature food and drink. Cold pizza seems to be best so that's what I'll have until it's sorted. The good news is tomorrow is drill day.

A1 Trap Bar Rows
bar x 10 reps
65kg x 10 reps
75kg x 10 reps
85kg x 10 reps
85kg x 10 reps -- I love how these feel, lats are very much in play now.

A2 Dead Press
bar x 3 reps
60kg x 3 reps
70kg x 3 reps
80kg x 3 reps
90kg x 3 reps
--Belt on
97.5kg x 3 reps
110kgx 1 rep --Equal PB. Not exactly smooth but this was the easiest 110 has ever gone up, I probably have another 5kg in me.

A3 Kneeling Rollout
x 6 reps
x 6 reps
x 6 reps
x 6 reps
x 6 reps --I can increment now these are silly easy.

A4 Squat
70kg x 3 reps
120kg x 3 reps
160kg x 3 reps
180kg x 1 rep
200kg x 2 reps
200kg x 2 reps

Cheers mate, I think it's dying off, the pain has gone from a constant nagging ache to only hurting when I do something to irritate it. Something like eating hot food, drinking and training. I've got deads first before the dentist and they piss it off royally so that should be fun. Last week I said I wouldn't go heavy but screw that if it's going to hurt anyway I'll go as heavy as I can.

Thanks mate. I want 200kg to be easy money and it pretty much is. I'm up another rep this week, next week I'll add another single. 1 rep a week, that's the aim. When I feel it's right I'll add 10kg and start again.

Wednesday 04th April 2018

Last sessions before the long awaited drilling. Crap nights sleep last night and aching like a b**ch today. Today felt more like therapy than training, I needed to get some heavy work in jest to burn off some anger.

KB Swings
7.5kg x 30 reps

Curls
bar x 25 reps
25kg x 20 reps
25kg x 10 reps

A1 Front Squat
70kg x 8 reps
95kg x 8 reps --Up 5kg from last week.
95kg x 8 reps
95kg x 8 reps

A2 Kneeling Hip Extensions
x 8 reps
x 8 reps
x 8 reps --Maybe 9's next time?

Deadlift
--Hook Grip
95kg x 3 reps
120kg x 3 reps
160kg x 1 rep
200kg x 1 rep --best this has felt with a hok grip, very secure and super fast.
--Belt on
250kg x 1 rep --Very pleased with the speed although the grip could have felt better. Easy rep really, clearly more in the tank.

--Revers bands on, Wide Grip, Straps
300kg x 1 rep --Default PB
320kg x 2 reps --Default PB, I only intended to do one rep but afters seconds deliberations I decided to try for another. These were damn heavy but exactly what I needed. Shear agony after but worth it.

YTWL's
3 x 10

UPDATE: Tooth has been drilled and feel 100% better. In effect one side of the tooth had been dying but was wired up to the metal filling.

It did feel good to go heavy again alas next week I'll be more sensible and hit reps at a lower weight. One of my goals for this year is to be repping (5s) 300 with reverse bands. That should put some more meat on my upper back. I've not exactly been pushing the hook grip hard but I have been using it every week. It still needs work but I can say without question when I get it right (which I do on the odd lift) it is very secure and allows me to use more power and more speed. I can see why it's used, with practice it could be awesome.

I'll stop being a drama queen now. I'm not gonna lie, it did hurt, a lot but that's over now and with a few more treatments it will be completely sorted. It's just one of the hurdles we have to deal with. In reality (warning overly macho statement) its just pain, nothing actually serious so I'm lucky in a way. My boss is off work this week recovering from knee surgery. Sod that I'll take toothache.
