It's a moonface era now. Member 5901, 956 posts | There were threads from WSM years ago with 60-70 pages. Now barely 30.

Member 4416, 1369 posts SQ 210, BP 175, DL 240625.0 kgs @ 122kgs UnEq | Thor has absolutely insulina'd up to the max and his strength has finally caught up with his skeletal potential. I think Thor is just about close to his absolute potential on all lifts/movements before his heart explodes. It just so happens that his absolute max strength is a bit more than Shaws. Also, Thor's speed/movement is a bit above Shaw's. So, short of injury or death, as long as Thor and Shaw are head to head then Thor will continue to beat him. That's not even taking in to account the fulfilment of other strongmen. So yeah, Shaw isn't "done", by any means but his peak may be slightly over and unless Thor gets more t.v contracts, then I suspect that final trophy will evade him.

End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | Post Edited: 08.05.2018 @ 00:39 AM by Mikeneto Thoughts on the comp.I actually thought we got to a point where Shaw and Thor had no weaknesses and would perform on every event. But Shaw's overhead still a problem(mainly at WSM) and Thor's grip. I don't think Shaw will ever have his OH at WSM where he doesn't drop big points. Thor will probably have his grip sorted by next year if no straps at the Arnold's. Both at the Arnold's and WSM Thor was doing well on the frame and dropped a few meters before the end, just needs a small improvement if the weights stay the same. Kieliszkowski I thought would do nothing this year because of injuries to his tricep and general weak deadlift. But he pulled it out of the bag and he did visit Tom Martin so might be getting a better deadlift for 2019 season. Licis was good again considering his build-up. I think he will put a big performance at say Arnold's Europe and Giants live show in September. The Dubai show should be interesting also. It might feel like a short season, but plenty of good shows coming up.

Member 6297, 99 posts | Was a good show, but they really need to sort out the release of the barrels on the squat set up as it clearly looked like they were releasing the barrels on the mechanism for all the competitors but pushing Thor's so they got there with less delay. Obviously wouldn't make a difference to his qualification but there needs to be standardisation

My asshole is not watertight. Member 2926, 6050 posts SQ 217.5, BP 107.5, DL 225550.0 kgs @ 86kgs UnEq | There seemed to be an awful lot of log presses where the reps were given but the athlete had little control of the log overhead.

End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | Thor was squatting the fastest due to his 440kg squat ability at the time and won the event due to squat speed rather than barrel dropping....Loz came third because he did an extra rep. All seemed fine with the event to me.
