Anyone had an oblique tear? Just asking as I tore oblique last month. I have refrained from deadlifting bench and squatting and am doing physio recommended exercises. I understand recovery is estimated at around 6-10 weeks.Interested in how long it took before you felt back to normal and started lifting again.

At the moment she has said to do:1. sit on swiss ball, left leg extended raised slightly off floor, arms out to side, hold for 5 secs then swap leg. 2. Same as 1 but arms extended upwards. 3.front planks 5 10 sec holds. 4.side extensions bodyweight only and seated turns. Will be working up to side planks and some more exercises in coming weeks.Have also started some dumbbell work with trainer to address the right side being weaker than right.

I feel for ye mate one of the most painful and restricting injuries I've had, mine was a partial tear and took about 6 weeks till I could lift pain free

Had a minor tear June 14th last year. Just thought I was sore and found out it was torn on July 6th. Chiro sessions, electro stim and two weeks of rest (not even going for a walk) before I could even think about getting back to lifting. Abs would cramp just from walking that first week back. I was back to myself August 19th.

Thanks siovrhyl, good to hear that you got back to it. Am finding recovery not on a curve, some days it feels better then next day, not so good I guess patience is name of game. How did you incur the tear? Any rehabby stuff that helped your recovery?

Cheers that's what I did re just thinking it was sore and carrying on.Lesson learned! Coming up to 5 weeks now but hearing you took bit longer to get back to normal highlights need for me to be patient! Good you`re back at it.

Haha.

Light squat 6 days before comp and I felt a pop. Competed on 6 days later anyway.
