Ahaha ...cheers man. I am stubbornly refusing to accept that I am too old to make genuine PBs by pulling on various levers such as; using wraps on the squat, using a deadlift bar on the deads and trying to take my bench from ironing-board flat to a tiny bit of an arch
....cheating in other words :P
I'm genuinely interested how people deal with hitting long-term, possibly even life-long, plateaus though.
I am still trying to fool myself into thinking I can eke things forward by things like technique tweaks, bodyweight manipulation and, pencilled in for the new year, I'm going to try taking regular deloads ...which is something I have thus far been woeful at.
It's not as though I'm moving things forward by leaps and bounds either, it's taken me eight years to add 10kg to my deadlift for instance. I just still feel like I can creep things forward a bit even if that's just misplaced optimism.
As I alluded to in my initial post though; I can't help thinking this is all something of a last hurrah though Unhappy
