Decided to get back into training properly after a fair while just treading water & gonna log progress (or lack of) to aid the old motivation.

Found a decent gym where I can dabble in Strongman stuff as I get bored just doing weights.

1st session there today just concentrating on technique to start off.

Messed about with log, car deadlift , bit of tyre flipping and some farmers today.

Next week's technique session is gonna be Viking Press, stones (will def struggle with these being somewhat vertically challenged)and Hussefeld stone.

My regular gym has been shut for a month while they moved premises, popping down tomorrow for a quick look round and then get back into some regular training from Monday.

Initial plan is

Monday - Squats / Overhead Press / Weighted Dips

Wednesday - Deadlift / Rows / Chins

Sat - Event training

May throw in some cardio sessions on Tues & Thurs - based around BB complexes & Intervals depending how the recovery goes

Day 1 at the regular gym after it's move / revamp (seems a bit soul less but will see how it develops)

Squats 80 x10 , 100 x 8 , 120 x 6, 130 x 5 /3 / 3

Flat Bench 90k x 10 / 8 / 8 (felt pants after a few weeks of not doing em)

Military Press 50 x 8 , 70 x 6 , 80 x 5

BW dips 3 sets of 12

Gonna try a pre wo stim to see if it gives a boost for training straight after work Cool

@ boar - see you're going from strength to strength me old mucker , I'm hotter than a dockers armpit in July buddy (well i will be when o shift a bit off chubb)

@ Mckinnon - had a couple of months just spinning the wheeels , easing back in and looking forward to getting some proper work in over the next few months.

Had a so so session today, back felt a little tight so took it steady.

Chins - 3 sets BW 6/6/5 - I majorly suck at these
Wide pulldowns - 3 x 8 - 70k
Seated row - 3 x 8 - 80k

14" Deads 120 x 10 , 140 x 6
Shrugs 120 x 12 , 140 x 8

Couple of sets of BB curls 40k x 8 , finito for today Roll-Eyes Roll-Eyes

Nice work matey.
How does your grip do with the shrugs? I always find the grip tough when I'm doing them it's the first thing to go with me.

Nice beard buddy! Cool

I use liquid chalk - am gonna try and fit some grip work in as well though - thinking of static holds and might even dig the grippers out of the cupboard under the stairs.

Kickass. I've always just used my hands without chalk. The static holds are brilliant. I'm using them with the dumbells from time to time.

Well the comeback went off the rails pdq - got a stinkin cold that settled on my chest so been a week or so coughing up all sorts of sh1te


Back in the gym yesterday for a benching session as I figured that wouldn't task the breathing too much

120 x 1 (equal pb with no lift off & no spotter)
40k x 35 - wanted 40 but burn was too much lol


Close grip bench

High Incline Smith Press

Couple of sets of Machine flyes and a couple of v bar pushdowns to finish off

Deadlift sesion today
60 x 6
80 x 6
100 x 6
120 x 3
140 x 3
150 - big fat fail , got it off the floor but wasn't going any further lol

Shrugs
200 x 12
220 x 8

BW Hyperextensions
20/20/17

3 sets of preacher curls + 3 x cable curls to finish off

Hoping to get back to Strongman stuff next weekend
