Absolutely dead. I would have liked to do a lot more deadlifting but unfortunately I started to go almost hypoglycemic after the squats. I will endeavour adjust my nutrition accordingly.

I've never ever enjoyed music...however...I've recently and inexplicably become a big fan of very heavy music.
Can you tell me young Jack, what is the very heaviest, angriest, shoutiest music genre available and can you recommend any decent bands worth spotifying?

For psyching myself up for squats and deadlifts I tend to prefer kind of hardcore/deathcore type things. For my PB set today I listened to the beginning of the song "knee deep" by a band called "job for a cowboy". Then for my other sets after that I listened to lamb of god.

I used to be a lot more into listening to music to psyche myself up, and when I was I think my all time favorite bands to do so were lionheart and throwdown.

I was ill over the weekend. Some kind of short lived flu with which my entire body was in pain and inflamed. I trained yesterday but although I felt much better it was a very low energy and motivation session.

Warm up

Squat

bar
50

80kg x 3 x about 5 or 6 - paused

strict press

bar
40
50kg x 3
60kg x 3,3,3
50kg x 5

then messed about with dumbbells for a short time and went home. Hopefully todays deadlift session will be much better.

140kg x 5,5,5,5,5,5,5,7f8 - good! though it wrecks my hands

warm up

squat

bar
50

80kg x 3 x 8 paused

bench

bar
40
60
70

80kg x 5,5,5,5,10

Then various scapular retraction things, DB incline bench, curls and tricep extensions.

I actually spent a lot of the session working on a faulty recruitment pattern in my shoulders. My right shoulder has a very hard time getting into a suitable and retracted position to be able to bench and squat. It is something I am ever looking into.
