Training partner and I are both convinced that the blue plates weigh more than the all metal ones and blamed both our pants sessions on that.

Close grip bench
60kg x 2
80kg x 2
100kg x 2
112.5kg x 2

Regular
122.5kg x 1 then fail
102.5kg x 7

Decline - all sets under 3 seconds, definitely faster with wider grip
87.5kg
Close x 3,3
Pinkies on rings x 3,3
Wide grip x 3,3

Shoulder press on smith
40kg plus bar x 10,10,10. Used same plates as last week

Triceps/Biceps superset. 35kg triceps, 30kg biceps
10/10
10/10
10/10

Got chatting to a rather attractive lady doing sumo deads - she's on 90kg squat, 70kg bench and 120kg deadlift at about 60kg bw. I might train her and get her into comps. She's coming to Genesis Gym to watch a qualifier to get a taste for things.

Summary

Getting stronger every time I step in the gym now.

BOOM. Good to read you're getting stronger with every session, it's not like you're only just starting either - some pretty big numbers.

Good to see you're back. Update your squat PBs on your total!

I was definitely thinking you'd get the 115 if you were Will Smith - unracking is an extra effort, plus you did it at the end of a workout. You going for it fresh next time?

Strong benching, looks like you're due a bench PB pretty soon?

190x2 followed by the confidence to go for 192.5x2 = big 200kg bench coming up pretty soon!

Still can't squat or pick anything up coz I'm still torn to sh1t. Physio next week, hopefully he can sort me.

Done loads of cardio and did 3 sets of 10 muscle ups the other day, looking lean and looking big up top, have legs like pencils. Dench!

Update in 2 weeks, still hold slim hopes of making an u90 qualifier.

Welcome to the club. Do you find not being able to train legs is doing wonders to your bench/shoulder progress?

don't hold your breath while deadlifting

That's the REAL reason they call it a DEADlift...

A day of eating almost nothing - nuts and fish. No carbs (didn't bring any with me and no time at work)

Deadlifts
60kg x 3
100kg x 3
140kg x 3
160kg x 3 belted
182.5kg x 5 belted - easier than last week

Rack pulls - bang on knee height
182.5kg x 3
202.5kg x 3
222.5kg x 3 - first attempt I didn't budge it, then the rest went up fine

Axle belt clean
Axle x 2
70kg x 2
80kg x 1
90kg x 1
100kg x 0. Used over/under and got it to my belt VERY easily, then couldn't get my under hand over.

Shrug machine that's just like farmers pick up
130kg x count of 20
170kg x count of 20
210kg x count of 20
230kg x 11 seconds timed.

Awesome rope machine where you just pull. Very much like pulling a lorry arm over arm. Level 8 x 3 mins, got a good amount of grip fatigue. Shame it doesn't go any higher.

Cycling - 2.5km. Really need to work on my level of CBA to do cardio.
» Hook grip on Hercules Hold (Go to post)15-04-2013 @ 16:47
For some reason I don't hook grip as much for regular deads/rack pulls, but I ALWAYS use hook grip for farmers. Never done Hercs but there could be some relevance.

What can you give to the company - media coverage, do you have a website, do you have a wide range of clients that you can recommend?
» what did you have for tea? (Go to post)15-04-2013 @ 00:11
The most calorific coffee I could find whilst waiting for a friend, 2 pints of Guinness and Black followed by
Lamb soup (with chili and garlic) - pretty much a meal in itself
Bread
Russian salad
Turkish salad
Yoghurt with mint
1 chicken shish
1 lamb shish
1 kofte shish
1 lamb chop
Rice
Coke
Turkish tea

Pretty full after all of that.
