» Pec injuries while deadlifting? (Go to post)10-07-2012 @ 17:42
I'm pretty sure some guy from Iceland (Benedikt Magnusson or something) who is OK at deadlifts warned that overtraining deadlifts had an increased risk of pec injuries. I think he may have torn his pec doing deads.

Could you not do some double overhand stuff when you're warming up or try to use DOH for max attempts?

I'll pay an extra fiver for my plus one to have a romantic takeaway curry months in advance.

The company I work for supplies domestic appliances - we may be able to supply washing machines, tumble dryers etc. for the loading medley. Send me a PM. I have also left a voicemail on the telephone, which is probably incoherent as I tend to babble on voicemails. Let me know if you're interested and I might be able to sort out sponsorship for the loading medley.

Big Gay Bash = must have a gay t-shirt. I'm going to find a pink vest that's far too small for me and take it with me. If there's anyone else lifting in gay stuff, I'll be ready.
» Ear injuries, squatting and pressure (Go to post)04-07-2012 @ 23:47
I felt something pop whilst walking out about 240-250kg a while back. I felt a little deaf in one ear, and kept on poking it. Within a few hours I could feel something inside, got my mum to have a look (i was young, living with parents) and she got some tweezers out and pulled out something about 2-3cm (from my ear, no cock jokes please). Was a dark red like dried blood. Get someone to shine a torch down there or something, could be a blockage.

Farmers walk 3 options 100k 120k 140k for men
50k/60k 70k for ladies?(I'm guessing here so any input from the ladies would be great)
20m course fastest time or longest distance wins , must complete 10m with the heavier weights to count. 1minute time limit multiple drops allowed.

Would 10metres with 120kg beat 20metres with 100kg? I read something about 19.9m gets no points? Would 19.9m with 120kg not just place you ahead of someone with 19.8m with 120kg, which would both beat 20m with 100kg?

Sounds like a lee lumpy price thing to do. I'm dead s**te at this strongman malarky but I might be interested if i'm in the country. I can always give another lifter £20 if they agree to sponsor me for £20.

I think this is a very good idea. Your sincerely, someone who can just about one rep an 85kg log....

Paid - Funky Monkey/Yaman Mustafa. Also have the entry form printed off which I can post off in the next day or two. Now I need to get up from 80kg to something more "respectable"

How about if the people putting their name down want suits? I'm thinking if you're allowed to hitch, then maybe you're allowed straps too. I can actually hold more without straps. I'd like no straps on farmers though - if it's a grip test then surely it makes sense to not allow straps for that.

Please put my name down and i'll be there as an excuse for a day out. Not too far from London either, so should be ok.

Will it be just whoever lifts the most, or you having weight classes?

I might be up for this as a fun day out. Will be able to stay in Oxford overnight with any luck.
