It's in the Sun, that most trusted of newspapers (not like they need free publicity or some s**t to make people buy their papers or anything) so it MUST be true! Sponges contain abrasive stuff for scouring, I don't see how this won't seriously fk up her insides.

gammon is cheap and full of calories/protein

Agreed. I'm not on a massively tight budget (by no means am I minted) but I still don't buy just chicken breasts. I just buy a whole chicken and chop it into 8. Top half and bottom half (just below where the wings end) then quarter it. Takes 5 minutes from start to finish including cleaning out the inside, and you get a whole chicken for the price of 2-3 breasts.

Morrissons almost always do cheap boneless pork loin/shoulder. Chop an apple and an onion, put the pork on top, add some seasoning then cover in foil and leave it in the oven at around 190-200c for about 1.5 hours.

I also buy bit bags of oats, grind it in the blender then add milk and blend again.

Jacket potatoes are another cheap bulking meal, and easy as fk to make. i just put it in the oven for a bit over an hour, could have some pork/chicken with it.

I make relatively cheap burgers too - mince, onion, parsley, egg, salt and pepper, and I add about 50g oats as well as 1-2 slices of bread crumbled/very finely diced. From 1lb of mince, I manage to get 7 quarter pounders.
» Dumb strongman question (Go to post)29-02-2012 @ 00:55
I'm not a beast by any means, I can barely do a few reps with a 40kg dumbell. i was just wondering. I did some standing dumbell presses with leg drive and can't get the second dip. Snatching a 40kg dumbell whilst fresh seemed MUCH easier than doing it after a few other shoulder exercises but with as much leg drive as poss.
» Dumb strongman question (Go to post)29-02-2012 @ 00:47
When doing a dumbell clean and press, am I allowed to snatch the dumbell from floor straight to overhead? Or, as the name implies, do i have to get it on my shoulders first?

Cottage cheese is casein, very slow digesting. If he's mixing casein in with the yoghurt, then it'll work. Whey would give the opposite effect to what cottage cheese is for - it breaks down too quickly and the aminos exit the bloodstream within 30 odd minutes.

Depends on the individual I reckon. It suits me better than a barbell. I feel like I can actually get some drive into it, plus there's no sticking point.
I'm always scared of my back "going" when pulling a heavy weight off the floor. It stops me pulling with 100% effort.

Yet you pulled this without a belt. Nice lifting.

Never do box jumps with dumbells in your rucksack. Stitches to my head, not quite as big a gash as yours though.

Could have just been a lady.

On the plus side, good thing nobody was in the front room when this happened or could have been much worse.

Wide stance suits help with sumo deadlifts. If it's too hard to get down, lean to one side to get a grip, then pull yourself down to get the other hand on the bar. Try a session in it, see how you get on.
» How much oats is TOO much? (Go to post)17-02-2012 @ 01:26
Finding it easy to have 200g oats plus 25g whey protein, plus 200ml milk and 300ml water, macros are about 130gcarbs, 40-50g protein and with 10ml olive oil about 30g fats, for around 1,000kcals. Get a bit gassy but I find it easy to get more overall kcals this way. Is this TOO much? I might have another 150g another time with just water to get more carbs in, so 350g oats in one day. Is this TOO much or should I focus more on getting 4 solid meals in per day, plus one shake with 150g oats?
