» Deadlift/Squats on soft flooring equalling less weight lifted? (Go to post)10-04-2018 @ 15:13
93hopkinsonr said:Having this exact problem at the moment mate. The gym owner put 2 inches of a foam like thing under where we deadlift and then a piece of ply and rubber mat over that. Iíve badically had no joy at all deadlifting since he did that and 2 adductor injuries which could be due to the slight movement?

Iím also an explosive puller from the ground but seem to have lost that power and am more of a ďSavickasĒ slow type puller recently.

Iíve deadlifted a couple of times at different gym on a proper concrete floor and it feels better but Iíve lost strength.

So, my advice is to sort it out quickly and pull off something concrete if possible before you lose gains lol

I'm going to remove a few mats and lift off concrete the next time I'm doing heavy pulls.

Soft enough to make a significant difference to what the scales show when I'm weighing myself. They don't visibly squish at all. Here's a very similar product, the only difference is mine are 40x40cm.

I quite like the name of this website!

Energy lost going into said flooring.

Bodyweight on tiles - 88.7
Bodyweight on rubber mats - 78.7

12% difference due to flooring.

I'm thinking the energy I'm putting into the floor is lost from mats. My bench is the strongest it's been for a very long time and hitting PBs, but deadlift is lagging at "normal" levels for me. Could this be due to energy lost to compress the mats instead of it going to the bar?

Do I make any sense?

Should I take off some rubber mats and deadlift on concrete to see if there's any serious difference to the weights I'm lifting?

Love the way youíre casually strolling towards bench PB territory (who cares about body weight) 10? 15? years into training after having a few injuries too. Solid work.

Thanks. This is the best my benching has ever been whilst eligible for IPF comps. I did hit 160 for a casual single before, but that was whilst inly eligible for untested comps.

I want to see if deadlifting on concrete yields better results than pulling on 20mm rubber flooring, because the scales show about 15% less on the latter and I'm sure there's a fair bit of energy loss.

I'm still injured all over though.

robocop said:hello i sell a lot of mutant mass over 500 a year and its a great mass builder for your skinny guys who struggle to gain weight and cant get enough cal in through food

it might be 2 things

1 mutant mass has a very unusual carb source as its primary ingreadient
they use corn flower instead of waxy maze or maltidextrin
they are all from corn but the corn flower is not pre-digested so you might be having problems with that

2 the seving size is realy high i think arround 240g a serving and it might be that your digestive system cant process that amount of powder in time

i would suggest if its not coming out the other end nice try a company called inner armour they have a product call hard mass that is an exact ripp off of mutant mass but with waxy maze instead of corn flower
or if you dont mind paying a little more USN hyperbolic mass is the best selling mass builder we do its very low in sugar and fat and the customers report realy good gains from it

They now use waxy maize starch. I googled to see who else had the same issues as I've just bought 6.8kg of the stuff and dodgy stomach with only half a serving a day (2 scoops). Carbs are wms, oats, Sweet potato, barley.

300g Amberjack for me, with roasted peppers, roasted onion, plus a big plate of seafood tagiatelle (cuttlefish, squid, octopus, prawns)
300g swordfish for the lady, but I nicked some of it.

Couldn't hear the person next to me because the restaurant was so packed. Then went over to her parent's place and got some halloumi pastries which I only just remembered about now, so I'm off to scoff them.

Saturday I had the pleasure of her dad's cooking - back in his heyday it was Famagusta's go-to place for slow cooked lamb with potatoes. I think he cooks it for 4 hours before he serves it, but the oven is left on all day. We got there at 5, so probably been cooked for about 10 hours. It had the texture of skate - everything just fell apart.

2-3 days wages for a normal person over here buys you a product with 17g protein per 100g, and even that is crap protein. Also, the 70% carbs comes from crap sources such as sucrose, dextrose, maltodextrin. 65% kcals comes from sugar

I'm planning on using
1kg 80% whey
2kg cornflour

This produces a finished product that contains, per 100g:
26.4g protein
60g carbs
0g sugar

I will probably add some nesquick, which may add a little sugar, but it's nothing major per 100g.

Any thoughts as to what I could make for cheap that does the job well?
