Had some friends round for dinner. Did pork tenderloin stuffed with Parmesan, garlic, sage and rosemary and wrapped in Parma ham. Rosemary roast potatoes, caramelised shallots and apples and a mustard sauce.

Was pretty special.

Rotten few months for me training wise. Moved house, have had man flu, norovirus, recurring trapped nerve in my neck and 2 broken wheels.

Add to that some rubbish family stuff and the end result - fat and slow.

Time for some hard graft.

Does the Kickr work OK with the 11 speed Ultegra? I've seen quite a few people saying they have problems. (Not as many as with the Neo)

No problems whatsoever. It's just a normal 11 speed cassette so I can't see how you would? You could have an ultegra cassette on it if you wanted. No one I know has ever had a problem wth the indexing.

No, but they are a very reputable company. The only issues I've ever seen were when they couldn't fulfill orders in time, but that was due to manufacturing of their own products and I think they've rectified that.

Buy me a pair and I'll provide some feedback for you Wink

garmn vectors are less than £600 on canyons 12 days of Christmas deal. 24 hours only.

I can't afford them, but I may just have to find a way.

Had a few nice meals recently, first started with roast pork belly (perhaps the best I've ever had) with celeriac purée, main was haunch of venison with turnip purée, roast turnip and beets, dessert was poached pears, chocolate ganache and honeycomb, washed down with a few vodka martinis and bottle of red.

Next was hawksmoor for steak, where I had easily the best sirloin I've ever eaten, and gaucho and hawksmoor used to be weekly haunts back in the day. Started with fillet carpaccio and beetroot salad, then the sirloin, finished with a 'crunchie bar', essentially a thick chocolate ganache with honeycomb, clotted cream ice cream and chocolate shavings.

Great grub all round.

I don't think I got an official 'mile' time but at my best for each I would be positive.

My best for both was about 6-7 years apart though.

That's brilliant Grin

Well done Steve, very well deserved.

Tell me you gave it a sprint finish? I'd love to imagine you sprinting to beat the Boar by a second.

Had a free ride up the main mountain on the pretzel today and when the epic kom time came up I was bang on my on my pb so gave it a nudge to see if I could beat it and ended up smashing it. Tore me to pieces mind you.

New pb - 23m06

not massively into the 40+ lap race as I just didn't know what was happening except fastness

Try 160 laps!

I actually find the long races much easier to follow at the velodrome than watching on tv. It did get a bit harder after the 5th pint. In fact there were a lot of pissed up people by the end. Many of them getting on bikes to cycle home...
