Lacrosse, cheerleading, swimming (when I can be arsed), going for country walks, soon to be snowboarding aswell.

Cant really do much at uni without a bike and car and I cant play paintball anymore. Too expensive to be part of a team. Unhappy

Detention officer?

In case the little s**ts run off? Grin The runners will test your deadlift grip when you nab them.

Mirrors are good for checking squat depth but you should be able to feel it anyway.

Other than that its just to pose or so. Roll-Eyes

Most, if not all retailers have legal protection over this as they realised internet cockups could get them in trouble as they'd have to honour the price if money exchanged hands.

Now they can say "sorry website glitch" and refund the money.

Guys who drop their pants and admire themselves in the mirror.

Yes, in front of everyone and their mates approve. One guy had pink boxers on.
» IDIOT who 'trains' at my local gym! (Go to post)28-03-2012 @ 00:05
MattD90 said:I know a few of these people. One at my gym, tries to pawn himself off as like the resident "powerlifter/strongman/big dog" of the gym by wearing supp company T shirts or Westside or whatever. Guy must weigh like 130kg of which most is fat, could probably bench his bodyweight for a legitimate single if I ever actually saw him do one. Usually just fannies about with half reps or machines on the heaviest peg plus a few 20kg plates chained to the stack aswell for half reps, shouting his head off and trying to turn heads

I did see him actually deadlift once though, wearing: wrist wraps, straps, gloves, belt, and knee wraps to deadlift 180kg, the third rep of which he couldn't break off the floor. Which of course only makes him a bit of a tit at worst. But it's then when he dishes out advice telling anyone who deadlifts more than him that they need to "work on form and lower the weight" etc plus his general hostility that makes him a full blown c**t

I did once hear him say "Yeah I do alot of powerlifting.. usually do it at the end of my chest sessions". What this means I do not know. He also clogs up my gym's FB page talking about how they need heavier dumbbells to accommodate him lolcakes

I just don't know what goes through some peoples' minds...

Sounds like the only thing he powerlifts is his ego.

She has a better body than a lot of women half her age.

When I look at many young women these days all I can say is "wtf are they gonna be like in 10/20 years time?"

» Renal condition and creatinine levels (Go to post)22-03-2012 @ 17:36
Post Edited: 22.03.2012 @ 17:38 PM by Harry
Hello, just another random thread but this time it may be a bit informative.

Just some background info. Warning, a load of bolocks inc.

I have a condition known as Alports syndrome. This is a genetic disease which affects the kidney tissue and as a result because the tissue in the ear is the same as kidney tissuu it has resulted in me being deaf.

Nothing too big as it just puts me below average on the hearing scale when compared with normal people. It helps me sleep through all sorts of loud s**t however. Grin

The thing is, this condition is quite un-friendly when it comes to the kidneys as it leaks protein through the blood, more so than in normal people.

Kidney operation relies on creatinine levels being stable and below 100.

My problem here is, this number is similar to how much I weigh and right now that is just under 90KGs. I used to be 74/5KG and my results were 75ish.

This is at the back of my mind constantly because although I enjoy the extra muscle that I have put on. I dont wish to endanger my kidneys but as I have found out the motto of 'Train big, eat big, Get Big' is making me nervous about the training I do and how my body reacts to it.

No I am not saying I am 'big'.

I do not want to suffer renal problems as I have read all too often about what happens. its a slow death on machines and renal failure is basically lights out for me.

Does anyone here know of someone who has a similar condition and predicament? How did they deal with or or are they currently dealing with it?

Thanks for any info regarding this.

The rich?

You tax the rich and they find somewhere else to go. Thats what rich and powerful people do.

Without the rich, everyone suffers.
» Sourcing good quality meat / Fish / Poultry (Go to post)20-03-2012 @ 16:15
Market in Sheffield has great prices on bacon, chicken, beef and eggs plus fruit and veg.

I love Tesco but the meat is too expensive for what it is and I get double for the same price.

Could swear I saw a huge packet of bacon for 9 quid being sold by one of the vendors. Either 1lb or 2lb cannot remember.
» troll hunting ? (Go to post)20-03-2012 @ 16:10
What makes it worse is peoples naive attitude towards social sites. Women ecspecially.

Facebook security is laughable and I dont really put much detail on it and I refuse to do stupid status updates every 10 mins.

It is like identity theft and the person trolling you can seriously harm your career prospects or in some cases, cause you harm. Unless you can track them down and make sure nobody finds their grave, you will have serious problems should they have it in for you.

They dont even need a good excuse.

Some people fall victim because of the way they took a picture with a girl/guy. True story. Roll-Eyes
» Cycling kills Deadlifts and Squats...HELP ! (Go to post)20-03-2012 @ 16:05
Simple breakdown.

Age, diet, volume of your lifting are you current concerns. You then add cycling into the mix and it all goes wrong.

As some people have said, more food/water, more recovery time and less volume on the squats and deads until your body adapts.

Long distance cycling tends to eat away at your energy levels, fat and muscle alot more than HIIT cycling does.
