I twisted my ankle a bit on my second set of squats so I killed it after 6 reps. How? Got a little forward.

Bench strength is coming back. Hit 415 today easily, after missing 410 last week. I felt strong and went for it.

Bench Press - Slanger

A few dips, front plate raises, fat grip overhead presses, AND I managed to roll out of the leg press machine myself busting anything important.

4th day back on low carbs. I was hungry as heck during the session. Weight is coming back down, strength is moving up. Injury is healed. Stars are aligning.

This was a monster squat for me. 4 months ago I hit a 585 buffalo bar single but it was a grinder. My straight bat squat is usually 40-50 pounds higher than my buffalo bar squat for whatever reason.

Today's 585 was easy and fast. My CNS was humming and I never felt shaky at all. I didn't even need to hit rage mode to get this.

I think my raw squat is 640-650 right now.

For the record, I added the Anderson Powerlifting 2K wraps. They were great.

My spud belt stinks for squats. Just can't get it tight enough. Need a real belt.

Just manhandled deadlifts today. First time in 4 months. I can officially say my lower back is 100%.

I could have repped my max set for 2-3 more reps if I wanted took. Stayed on the side of caution.

Deadlifts - Low Rack Pulls @ 4"

495 x 1
585 x 1
585 + 60lbs Chains x 1

585 + 120lbs Chains x 4

Need to adjust chains yet. Top end weight was probably 650-660ish because some chain was left on the ground.

Either case this was strong.

Ok session. My shoulders were a bit fatigued from the recent kettlebell snatches. Still moved some ok iron.

I am training more frequently. Start to rev things up.

Tomorrow will be squats and deads.

First time benching with chains. Perhaps 30 pounds unload at the bottom with the current set up. Need to setup a feeder chain.

Working on increasing my frequency. So far, so good. Back feels great, body is feeling better.

Got my new chains in. Didn't go crazy. Did 2 sets x 2 reps with 495 top end weight. Feel uber fast. Need to drop 10 pounds of gut. Pulling me forward a bit.

Also did kettlebell snatches in the snow. Thanks Babs!

Here we are. Another year. I count every one as a blessing, and will do my best to make it a productive 365 days.

My only goal today was to hit a 505 squat single. I need to build up my conditioning on squats and deads. Deads feel manageable right now but squats feel really heavy. I plan on microloading them very slowly this year and not rushing things.

Workout Time: 75 minutes ??

Workout Grade: A

2 big PRs today. Low rack deadlift of 700, which is +15. Bench press 430 x 2, which is +10. Kept it easy on squats to make sure the hammie is healed and ready for the meet.

Body is feeling good. Hitting PRs week in and week out. I don't know what I'll hit at Nationals, but I am confident that I am peaking and in a groove.

Muscle Marinade pre-workout is amazing. Focus, focus, energy, focus, energy and focus.

Right glute was off today. Wanted to go charlie horse on me during warmups. It's slightly tender right now, but no big deal.

Could have hit 525 for a few more reps but didn't want to push the glute or my hammies. Stayed safe, got a PR.

Close grip benches were crazy light. Easy 3 reps and a big PR. Haven't performed them in about 3-4 weeks so I didn't know what to expect. 315 rep felt like a speed rep. Crazy.
