thats what we are doing it for I think my main problem apart from obvious lack of strength in that area is a lack of technique i pull fast to just above the knee but end up finishing the pull in that bad a position it pretty much comes to a stop and i have to grind on the 140's im actually just squeezing everything tight and sitting back abit to start the pull and when it get to knee exploding with my hips and glutes
hopfully it will iron out the weakness and see if theres any difference when i start to pull heavy again

I might give this a go myself then mate if it helps its pissing me off not being able to increase my deadlift

just something we are trying out at the moment to see how it work trying realy hard to keep solid form in the bottom part of the pull so in a better postion to finish the pull

would that help lockout as i seem to lift to my knees really quick but just hit a brick wall and the weight wont budge from there

When I hit 233kg I did
60x10
100x8
140x3
180x1
210x1
233x1

cheers mate will give this a blast next week when i bench again

That looks like far too much to me before a PB attempt mate... Are you not comfortable with bigger jumps?

I probably would mate i dont really have much knowledge on designing a routine for strongman its always been a little bodybuilder-ish and i got a bad habit of trying to go for a PB everytime i lift

Start with a light weight and get a good hand position and work on squeezing your shoulder blades together to get a better squeeze in you shoulder make an arch with your lower back but keep your arse on the bench, place you feet so that your heel ar planted.
Then when you bench stay tight and drive your heel into the floor when driving the bar back off the chest to lock out.

This was my bench press routine tonight

135kg X 1
140kg X 1

150kg X FAIL

Holly s**t, I that case work on you arch and shoulder position and also you hand position. If you trust your spotter then this is the way to go just now

I will take all your advice on board and try it all in next weeks session

cheers mate

In that case can you raise the pins up so you lift out isn't so low.

Thing said:I find the middle finger on the rings of the barbell is enough, change it for something that you find comfortable. And find a rack to bench in if you gym only has that bench

im stuck with that mate i cant drive at the minute and the people i train with wont go any were else so unfortunately i have to make do untill i get the equipment myself
