Cheers lads

I think hes looking at next year for his first comp he wants to get his deadlift up his PB is 145kg which is up from 100kg in 10 - 11 weeks of training

And got to get him event training

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is any comps held for anyone 50 or over.

Iv not been training long about 10 weeks for strongman and i competed in my first comp about 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

My father in law trains with me and hes 56, for his age hes as strong as an ox hes only lacking on deadlift as he only started doing it when he started training with me.

He really got the bug at the comp and maybe fancys competing, i have confidence and believe he could enter a novice comp and do well but hes not as confident so i suggested id have a look and see if theres any comps or if anyone knows if there is any for the slightly older generation.

Looks like you fail once your legs go straight, so the above will help.
Additionally it might be worth pulling your bum down a little further and trying to pull more as you lift so you hips come through earlier.

A vid from the side would be worth posting next time Happy

Bloody fast off the floor fella Grin

Yeah i struggle getting lower i have unusually long arms and legs and a short torso lol i have a side on video of me doing a 200kg lift if that would help to see my form a bit better.

If you want to pull like that loads of SLDL style stuff and work hard on a rotation of high block pulls and deficit pulls.

Cheers mate, i will start varying my deadlifts iv only ever really done the one type of deadlift.

Things like SLDL and varying the height i havent really attempted before

This was my first attempt at 260kg deadlift i managed the 255kg two weeks previously unfortunately i failed this lift.

As you can see it gets to my knees relatively quick but once there it felt like i hit a wall and couldnt budge it.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
